Hamilton didn't blow through the apex and turn in late at Silverstone, he may not have been on the kerb but he was going the right direction and left lots of room for Max to manage the corner. The two incidents are not the same.

Yup, claiming Silverstone was some massive injustice for Max is ridiculous. Swap positions and Max would have done the exact same move.
Injustice is brake checking someone on track, and not getting penalized(in reality). Had the outcome been slightly different, say Lewis disabled, the worst Max would have got would be DQ'd, but then Lewis would still be denied the points, and Max would be leading.
The whole season is tainted, but perhaps my biggest issue is the farce of points for Spa. It basically amounted to Q1, Q2, and a portion of Q3. No race. Championship points are for race results, not partial qualifying. There is no way to justify it, other than to over media and sponsorship requirements.

Well, it's been a fun season watching Max put it to the Mercs and Hamilton. And it's been a fun 1st year participating in this game here.
1.Verstappen
2. Perez
3. Hamilton
4. Ocon
5. Bottas
6. Alonso
7. Leclerc
8. Sainz
9. Norris
10. Ricciardo
Guessing Verstappen with my heart.
My brain tells me Hamilton because it's f1 and that's how this works.
It'll be an interesting Sunday.

I’m going with added drama of Bottas taking Max out on the first lap and Max having to limp his way around and fight through the pack. I also like the other scenario of Bottas taking Hammy out and they give the constructor title away too.
As a rookie this was a ton of fun. Looking forward to next season.

Spectacular strategy (Red Bull) and lap by Max to take pole.
When he drives without the petulant child thing, there is no equal.
Will be interesting to see how the tire starts (Lewis on medium, Max on soft) plays out.
Should be a great race

Max Verstappen about Lewis Hamilton: 'If I had been in his car, the season would have been decided long ago'

Do you think Hamilton is afraid of you?
“He will never admit that. At least I'm not afraid of him. Yeah, I think I'll make him nervous if he sees me in his mirrors. He's a different driver than me, less aggressive. He doesn't know how to race like I do. I can't blame him for that either, because he was never able to learn that like I did from my father."

Remember, this is the same guy who refuses to participate in DTS because he thinks they manufacture drama and make him look bad.

If, and I hope it won't, but if that win determines the championship it is a travesty in order of magnitude worse than than any questionable time penalties, grid drops or controversial crashes.
Fortunately the only realistic way this potentially impacts is double DNF, and here's to that not happening.

The rules are the rules, even if they aren't ideal. No points at all for Spa would have also been a travesty. Maybe they should adapt the rules to account for this kind of situation... though only twice has a race ever gone less than 100km.
People bemoaned the red flag tire change rules last weekend. Yet the red flag unlapping rule revived HAM from the dead to a 2nd place in Imola.

Actually, IMO Silverstone and Saudi were similar levels of transgression. Let's not forget that both drivers were already going at half pace for the point on the track last week...a clumsy mess from both, meaningless penalties in both, but the point differential [and arguably danger] was much greater in Silverstone.
I'm sure there are more incidents to consider, but in the 4 key ones being discussed:
Driver Transgressions
Silverstone - 25-0
Saudi - 25-19
Silly rules/rub of the green (Imola, Spa):
Spa - 12.5-7.5 (though one could also argue that Max was robbed of an opportunity to earn a 6-8+ pt gap depending on fastest lap, etc.)
Imola - HAM was 9th and a lap down at the red flag, though it would have been a lot worse without the RUS-BOT incident happening a few seconds after HAM's off. He should have been looking at 0-11 points, and walked away with 19.
Out of all of those incidents, HAM managed 76.5 out of 87.5 available points. Max got 56.5. Cry me a river about the half-points.

I knew there was something I was missing from the red flag at Imola. I remember being more upset than usual (not a fan of being able to work on your car in red flag), and now remember it was because of the un-lapping for Lewis.

It is what it is, there will never be a perfect season or nothing to complain about. At the end of the day the right cars/drivers are in racing for the championship. Doesn't matter how they got to this point
I think this race is set up perfectly for a dramatic finish. Max will get out to a nice lead on softs and then get chased down by Ham as the tires fade. Then the undercut comes in and it's anyones race. This could totally be won in the pits/strategy. Let's hope for a couple wheel to wheel battles and no stupidity.
