Tough for Croatia but when You choose not to attack for 115 minutes and you're not gonna score.

Croatian dude who got the light shove in the back in the area at the end should have gone down. Sad to see the guy who doesn't drop with light contact doesn't get the call.

And the moral of the story here children is: Dont screw around for 2 hours.

I'd say Croatia were the better team but no one did anything.

Terrible strategy too. If you're going to start playing a more open game, you have to do it with enough time to give you good odds of getting a goal or preferably two. Do it that late and mostly you open yourself up to exactly what happened here.

Switzerland was the only team today that deserved to go through. Everyone else, even the other teams that lost, played boring, ugly football. Kind of sums up the tournament so far.

What a terrible game. Last 10 min of 2nd extra time was all that was to get excited about. I actually nodded off 4 times in this one. Neither team played regular time to win or not lose.

Probably didn't buy some of Ronaldos cologne over the past year, so banished.
Portugal will get theirs, this was far more poor from Croatia who looked excellent in the group stage

Like Polands chances against Portugal if they can wake up. Doubtful that will happen though.

A game of chess between two 80 year olds is more exciting than that game... o.O

But brilliant finish, though, more than made up for it... So, Portugal is into the 1/4 but technically without a win, all draws...

Goodbye Croatia. You deserved everything you got. Favorites in that side of the draw and you played too cautiously. Zero shots in 120 minutes just won't cut it.

On another note what were the commentators saying about Nani and a miss-hit shot. That was the pass of the tournament.

Both teams deserved to lose for that display. Unfair way to go for Croatia. I feel for them.

Having said that,

FORCA PORTUGAL!!

Except Poland's performance wasnt exactly a scintillating display of skill either. Portugal vs. Poland is likely going to be replay of this crap game.

Just watching the winning goal again.

Ronaldo as much as you may hate him is a great two way player with a hell of an engine. Breaks up the attack and he's gone.Strinic is down, out of position leaves a huge gap and never recovers. You see him trying to make it back.

That pass by Nani is something else. As good as I've ever seen.

And finally ... I've just stumbled upon probably the dumbest sports fan in years. Check out the Croatian lady behind Ronaldo at the end of the clip (117:36 on the game clock) celebrating like crazy before she realizes her team didn't score. Seriously?
