Mourinho leaves Porto and they win the league 7 of the next 9 seasons and they never recovered? Sure.
Then Inter it is as simple as guilt by association? Sure. Whatever works ...
When in fact that was more a case of The Fat Spanish Waiter not being able to cope (that is if we are to believe club personnel and president). In fact I haven't heard the Mourinho/Inter mess story .... until now. http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/edi...er-2010-treble
So maybe as far as Porto and Inter are concerned we can scrap the oft repeated assertion that (1) clubs failed to recover and (2) that it was down to him when the evidence suggests otherwise. Reeks of desperation or ignorance.
Quote:
After all these years, maybe that's all that Benitez and Moratti can agree on: that the Spaniard's tenure set Inter back years.
The only thing they would continue to disagree on is whose fault that was.
I really don't care about his Porto stint to be honest, that was over a decade ago. Their run in a REALLY weird CL season (the other finalist was Monaco, right?) was outstanding, no doubt. The fact that Porto won 7 of the next 9 league titles means very little to me though ... heck, it's the Portuguese league. The cynic in me says the the only reason why Mourinhos Inter stint didn't end in tears is that he left before his third year, which is when everything collapses.
But fine, let's ignore Porto and Inter. That's still 3 of his last 4 jobs where everything ended in bloody tears, including both of his PL stints.
But let's not use that as a platform to spread misinformation.
At this stage I don't care. Anyone is better that that clown in situ now. Sure he has his baggage but at least he has intensity and passion. Something badly missing at the club.
And, I'm not defending him here but consider that Chelsea are a complete gongshow of an organisation. They're a disaster and part of me wonders that is why Terry isn't being renewed on a yearly basis by Abramovich. There was always that sense that the players had too much power there.

How great would it be for City to totally fall apart down the stretch and finish outside top 4, and Pep enters with City in Europa League? As to Leicester, I believe they were still at least 150-1 to win the League as late as December last year. How many people just put £5 on them to win? And how nervous are bookies right now? Leicester guaranteed to be at least 5 points up by the end of the week.

what impresses me most is their body language. They are up 3-0 away and they still want it more than City. Lots of running and hard work, it's amazing to watch a team with so much passion and energy.. Everybody is talking about Vardy, Kante and Mahrez (whose defensive work is really good for a winger too), but guys like Drinkwater, Albrighton and Fuchs do an excellent job as well.
The score actually flatters Man City. How crazy is that?
I mean pretty much one year ago, Leicester were in last place by 5 points. It's hard to comprehend how massive things have turned in one year, from relegation fight to almost certain Champions League play. Remarkable.

Could be an interesting weekend at Anfield. Liverpool supporters are planning a walkout on the 77th minute to protest the cost of seats rising to 77 pounds. It seemed to have started on some fan sites, but the media is starting to pick it up. It's hard to say if it'll pick up enough steam to be noticeable, but it's certainly being talked about a fair bit.

Imagine how confident Villa will be next season if they manage to somehow beat the drop this season.

He's not young and this is really a breakout season. It's a reasonable wage I figure. Rewarding enough for his tenure and reasonable enough with those other concerns.

No, I get that. I guess I'm just looking at it from an NHL perspective which is weird, but he didnt really get dollars or term.
Top scorer in the Premier League.
