It would really suck if Connor McDavid was a Liverpool supporter eh?

Learn that you'll be playing for the Oilers on Saturday evening, lose you're last change out of getting anything out of the season on Sunday morning.

very happy with this:
Manchester United @ManUtd
BREAKING: @ChrisSmalling has signed a new contract at #mufc which keeps him at the club until at least June 2019.
great news, he has been great in recent weeks. If he can shake off those stupid injuries he can be a fantastic defender ... also I think he'll complement Hummels really well
he's the first to re-sign of those with expiring contracts in 2016, the others include de Gea, Jones, Rafael, Young, Evans, Valdes and van Persie. Given recent results and performances, I think Jones and Young are no-brainers to re-sign. De Gea will obviously depend on himself - if he wants to stay, United will gladly make him the best-paid goalkeeper in the world. Evans and Rafael are as good as gone ... not sure when it comes to van Persie. Probably depends on whether he'd accept a bench role.

Looks like United will do their business quickly and early this year. Sky Germany have just confirmed that Ilkay Gündogan to United is a done deal and that a contract will be signed this weekend.

Awesome, fills a definite need. How does this affect Hummels I wonder? Positively I hope.

I'd hope so. BTW not sure if Gündogan really "fills a definite need" ... he's basically another Herrera while United really has to go out and find an heir to Michael Carrick. Gündogan certainly isn't. That being said, I've always been a huge fan of Gündogan, so I'm very happy they get him. Really surprised though, that basically came out of nowhere. The English journos seem to have no clue at all since van Gaal took over.
As for De Gea - van Gaal had pretty clear words today.
Paul Hirst @hirstclass
LVG asked abt De Gea's contract talks earlier. He said: "It takes a long time now. I want him to stay ... we have offered him a lot of money. The player is the boss. He can say yes or no. You will have to ask David de Gea (if he is staying), not me. He has to sign."
Ball is firmly in De Geas court now ... just put pen to paper already. If I have to see one more United stars leave for those Real dorks I might just have to riot.

a bit of a risk because of the injury, but Gundogan is a huge step up from Herrara

I think LVG knew when he signed Valdes in January
he's only 33 so he has at least 5-6 years left, and while he's not as good as DDG he's still probably on the next level behind Courtois and Lloris

What about Cech? I rate him ahead of Valdes

we're talking about Daniel Levy here. No way he'd agree to such a clause.
if Arsenal win the FA Cup, it's a moot point anyway. In that case, all of Liverpool, Southampton and Tottenham qualify for the EL.

Well we can agree he's great at selling, but I dunno about signing. I think he's a bit overrated there to be honest.

he's very hit and miss but in general I'd take that instead of middling
they have had much more success finding players in the 5-15m range who have gone on to double/triple (or in one case 12x) the initial investment
based on spending (transfer and budget) they outperform where they should be in relation to the rest of the top 6, and they are the only one with a positive net transfer spend the last 5 years I think

also the release clause on Lloris was already shot down as insane, he's worth at least double that to a normal team, Levy would get more
Also United wont need a goalie next year, Spanish papers reporting both Madrid clubs about to be hit with a transfer ban for this summer and next January
