Well you aren't getting stars from any team.
Danford is over PPG since going to Brantford from Oshawa (Oshawa is a bad team with little offence).
I'd take Roy as a cap dump. One year only, has played on winners.

Robertson is worthless for us. A 24 year old winger who could not beat out Huberdeau, Coleman, Honzek, Farabee, Coronato, Klapka or Pospisil on the current lineup for ice time on the wings and will soon be passed by at least 2-3 prospects on the wings. That is just a salary dump.
The Leafs have no prospects not named Cowan or Danford. If the package is their 2028 1st it is not enough and they don’t have anything of value to add to that outside one of their two prospects.
Hope Brad completes the destruction of their prospect pool and just gives us the 2028 1st and both prospects for Andersson and Coleman. We can eat cap on Anderson at 50% and take Jarnkrok, Kampf and Benoit off his hands to make the cap work. Throw in a 4th and a 5th so Brad can say they are getting some futures back and call it a day.

Cowan needs to be part of it IMO.
I'd take Cowan + 2028 1st

Danford is not an offensive dman, think Tanev and you get a better picture. He was on an absolute offensive wagon last year in Oshawa and got 25 points. He is on what is likely the best team in the entire CHL this year and he is getting accidental assists but he is not an offensive dman. Good player but not an offensive player.

Brad is ‘working hard’ and ‘in on everything.’
Where have I heard that before.
Whole lot a smoke and no fire, I bet.

27 2nd, 28 1st and a cap dump I would be okay with it. Hate having picks that far out but I am not sure what else they got to give?
Would they send Carlo so the Flames could possibly flip him again before the season ends?

Yeah Flames may need to accept that they won't get a premium asset for Rasmus... Danford has some toughness but it's hard to see him being more than a 4 at absolute best to me at NHL level so personally I'd rather see Cowan. Even though to me he looks like a Zary caliber guy who is probably a 3rd liner maybe a 2nd if you get really lucky.
Hard to see them moving their 2028 1st already that far out, their future is already starting to look pretty dark and that pick could end up being a lottery pick pretty easily with the age of their team and how it is trending.
I can't see them offering better than Cowan and a 2027 2nd with a warm d body/cap dump. Carlo makes sense but they just paid so much for him, he's probably the most overpaid 3rd pairing dman in the league if he's slotted in where he belongs but leafs moving him would be basically saying we wasted Minten and our 1st last year on him.

Andersson's alleged loser attitude would be perfect on the leafs.

Holinka is a late birthday and already 20. He's not that exciting of a prospect.

I'm not a big fan of Pronman at the Athletic, but here is his analysis of Holinka:
November 10, 2005 | 6-foot-1 | 185 pounds | Shoots right
Drafted: No. 151 in 2024
Tier: Projected to play NHL games
Skating: NHL average
Puck skills: NHL average
Hockey sense: NHL average
Compete: NHL average
Shot: Above NHL average
Analysis: Honlinka had a decent first season in North America, but played at the top of his game at the World Juniors. He’s a center with intriguing tools, and a good skater with strong puck skills who can beat defenders one-on-one with pace. I don’t think he’s a great playmaker or finisher, but he’s strong enough in both areas. His compete level is decent. Coaches trust him, and he can play both ways, but he’s not overly physical. He checks a lot of boxes, even if he doesn’t stand out at anything, but he could be a bottom-six forward in the NHL.

We aren't getting an A+ prospect and a 1st for Andersson. Even if the first is delayed.
Honestly I would be stoked with an unprotected 2028 1st. Throwing in a C+ or B prospect would soften the blow of the 1st coming with many conditions.

As long as he's driving up the price on assets the Flames intend to sell, I'm all for it.

Conroy (and Maloney and Edwards) had their say in all the major decisions Treliving made. The choice to walk Gaudreau to agency before trying to sign him. The choice to reload rather than take a futures-based return for Tkachuk. The decision to go after Kadri and extend Huberdeau. All made by the collective braintrust that is largely still intact.
GMs do not determine the mandate of a team - they lead a team tasked with carrying it out. The mandate during Treliving’s tenure was to contend for a Cup.

Leafs realistically don't have anything attractive to me. Knies, Matthews, Nylander won't be dealt. Their 1st will be middling and meh. Their prospects, not high ceiling enough. Then add in the Wizard factor and he's probably not going to want to deal fairly. Certainly you kick tires but there are better options out there.
