Size but concussion issues which make him hold back. Can score when playing with a teams best player which won’t happen on the Flames, he wouldn’t be in the top 6, right now I don’t see him firing in the top 9.

I don’t think Carolina moves him.

Mikael Granlund is rumored to be available according to the Athletic. Anyone think this could be a good RW option if Stone or Hayes don't come to fruition?

Patrik Laine becoming available is certainly unexpected, makes me wonder if the Flames have a shot at acquiring Taylor Hall.

Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli
#preds spent a first-round pick on Ryan Hartman last year on Deadline Day. Believe he is in play today as well, perhaps as part of a bigger package.

If they move Laine, they are clearing the decks to sign Stone.

Jets trading Laine now would be stupid, you keep him for playoffs and trade him in the offseason. I really see no plausible way that rumour is true.

Jets already know what Laine probably wants in terms of dollars, as the_only_turek_fan said they may have a shot at signing Stone and probably see him as a better fit.

Brad gets all the RFAs and signs them to reasonable deals. If Laine is out there, he's as good as a Flame IMO

Good chance Ottawa knows Stone wants to hit free agency and doesn't want other teams to know they wont have much of a chance to resign him.
I get that, I guess. But doesn’t a team courting Stone value him higher if they know he will re-sign? Thereby benefiting Ottawa?

LeBrun said to keep an eye on Ferland and Calgary (among a list of other teams). Says for Carolina to move Ferland it has to be a strong offer.

Would you do the same expensive package (2 firsts, Dube or Kylington) For Laine?

Yes. More cost controlled. Or under team control for longer.

Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
Again, not sure Carolina really wants to move Ferland but teams are calling... we mentioned Vegas interest in Ferland... but you can also add Toronto, Winnipeg and Calgary as teams that have showed interest today. Could be 11th-hour decision for 'Canes
