You all are hilarious for taking offense at this. Of course there are at least a million! I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's a very, very small minority of people who can honestly claim they don't have any prejudices. I have them. You have them.

The difference is in more civil times (you know...10 years ago), the majority of people recognized this was socially unacceptable and suppressed their most vile opinions, at least in public. Now? Y'all have moved the needle.

So I'll bet there are 2 million unrepentant bigots in this province. But the problem is 1 million of them are now openly saying "...and that's OK."

She's already talking about going towards a provincial police force. You didn't have to wait too long.

Honestly though. What difference would it make. Ontario does the same thing.

What benefit is there? From a conservative viewpoint, what would be the point of spending all of the money to create/recruit/train a new police force when as you pointed out "what difference would it make"? Seems like there are a lot better uses for taxpayer money right now.

I’m assuming the goal would be better service and more efficient funding model. I’m also assuming they would offer jobs to the current RCMP members.

What's wrong with the RCMP? Why do we need to spend hundreds of millions on a new police force to do the exact same job that the RCMP are already doing?

Or is this another one of those instances where conservatives just want to make more love to Trudeau again?

We don't, but it sure would make life easier in the UCP when they could easily shut down or prevent any investigations into a sitting premier

Yup. Also coming up: Alberta Revenue Services, Alberta Security and Intelligence Service, Alberta Armed Forces.

Ahhhh okay, now that makes sense. Easier to avoid investigations and charges when the police are comfortably in your back pocket and not servient to a federal body who may ask questions. I'm sure if they were still charged, it'll shockingly be Notley's or Trudeau's fault somehow though.

I’m guessing there would be some sort of tax incentive if you’re funding your own police force for rural areas. Seems like the intent is to keep alberta taxpayers money in alberta.

There are plenty of issues with the RCMP ranging from ineffective management, to racism, corruption, incompetence with investigations, sexual assaults and harrassment among other things. Would an Alberta provincial police be any better? It is tough to say but really there shouldn't be much defense for the RCMP and there are rumblings from many places that are looking at new policing options. Early this year, Surrey BC received the green light to dump the RCMP and start their own police force.

Also, the whole council of the defeated in Edmonton is looney tunes. Another useless bill for Albertans and a middle finger to those elected representatives.

There's no fear mongering to come true. She told us this kinda silly #### would happen.

Remember when the UCP cancelled the NDP's carbon tax which was designed to come fully back to Albertans (because #### the NDP right?), only to then see that tax implemented federally and less returned to Albertans?

The UCP literally made its own citizen base poorer just to ideologically stick it to Notley. Stewards of fiscal responsibility my ass.
