Yes, and he is Coronato’s age
If you think Coronato can grow so can Kent Johnson

Flames need to do a purge of the FW group before they bring in more fws IMO. Throw the line up out the window and start building around the kids you have.

Some tidbits from nhltraderumors:
Seravalli says the Blues are a team to watch in the next 5-10 days- they have been very aggressive on the trade market.
Michael DeRosa suggests that Calgary could be one of three destinations for the 'Jackets Yegor Chinnakov.
James Wilson says that the Stars and Jason Robertson are nowhere close to a new contract, and suggests that they would like to keep his AAV under that of Rantanen's. He is still signed through this season and next, so there is still time.

Jersey's 1st rounder is on the table for an impact player - Mercer and that 1st for Kadri?
(assuming it works with his trade clause, probably a big if)

At this stage let’s take some wild swings. Wasn’t suggesting Johnson specifically, but rather players that maybe haven’t lived up to their top billing. Coronato will grow, and there are other players out there who are at the end of their rope with their current team. Target those players. Give the fans something to look forward to.
Hell, I’m not interested in watching Kirkland or Sharongovich and by no means are they the reason why we are in the position we are in. But they aren’t the answer either, and if there are players out there that could pop with us with increased ice time, why not? Just because the team sucks doesn’t mean we can’t bring in players that might make the team more entertaining to watch.

I think he could really pop on a different team, but probably not on ours.

Good thinking, if you get rid of a Yegor you will just be looking for another Yegor.

Flames are maxed on Yegors. I count 3 Yegors, and teams are not allowed to have more than this. Yegor Yegorov fills-up two spots.

I really, really hope that Kadri gets traded to Toronto for the 2028 conditional pick. Make it top 10 conditional unless the 2027 pick gets deferred if Toronto finishes in the bottom 10 this year, and it becomes unconditional for 2029.
That team seems to be in a free-fall. They are less skilled now, and don't have any decent assets coming up the pipeline. I wonder if Treliving gets fired this year? I am starting to wonder this. Seems a lot of people complaining about his management, and the trading of young assets for depth that hasn't worked out.

I hear everyone’s fear about trading Zary so how about the other two as I put Zary and Quinn in the trade as two struggling young wingers.

Teams making a trade to support a Cup run don’t trade their own top 6 players away. Mercer isn’t going anywhere.

His contract ends July 1st 2026. He then has 1 year of RFA status remaining, so team controlled yes - but under contract, no.

So reading some posts from the resident insiders on the game thread. The locker room is sick of Andersson, and Andersson doesn't give a **** because he has 1 foot out the door, and there's some rift over young player/old player favoritism? Not looking to put words in anyone's mouth, just trying to get a clear picture.

Calgary Flames trade ideas
Trade Nazem Kadri to Anaheim for Eric Nilson (prospect), and conditional 1st round pick 2026 (condition: top-15 protected; will give unprotected 1st round pick 2026 instead if condition is met)
Trade Rasmus Andersson to Carolina for Justin Poirier (prospect) and 1st round pick 2026
Trade Blake Coleman (50% RS) to Dallas for Adam Erne ad 2nd round pick 2026 (Dallas will use a second broker team to retain another 25% to remain cap compliant)

A way to make to world right, we should have drafted him in the first place
