I feel the mood is more like a pregnant woman. Tons of crying for no reason, emotion swings that would startle a serial killer, planning years down the road for something that hasn’t even happened yet, ignoring any existing children with all attention going to the potential newborn.
Eichel will even need months of labour intensive care once he arrives and be coddled the entire way with constant updates for everyone to read, even if they don’t care.

It all depends on the actual price being paid
Let's assume that rumored ask from NRD podcast is true
Krebs = Zary
Brisson = Pelletier
Tuch = Mangiapane (Both 25 with identical stats last year)
2022 1st round pick
Honestly I'm not sure I would want to give up all that - while also having to give up other pieces because Flames would still have to move another ~$6M to be cap compliant.
If the price for Vegas comes in and it's like:
Krebs
1st
2nd
Then sure we can fault them on that. But until the trade actually happens I can't fault them for not wanting to pay a price that up to this point none of the other 31 teams have been willing to pay either.

That's a lot.
Edit: maybe not as much as I originally thought. But Tkachuk is worth a lot on his own. Assume former first rounder is Juuso, Dube and wolf? Yeah that's a lot.

They've done charity events together in the Boston area a few times too.
Regardless it's best we don't assume who knows each other and especially how well. Johnny and Jack might've barely played together but maybe they've hit it off during that brief period at the WC and became fast friends. They might've been training together for years etc etc. The reporter (missed the name) seemed confident in saying she knew they knew Eichel well, hard for me to question that.

If it is Tkachuk why would we add 4 more pieces? Unless there is some rentention on Eichel this seems like a huge overpay IMO.

Reason: Amount of pieces

is the former 1st Gudbranson? Have to think with that haul it'd be done. I don't see how Vegas could beat that
Zadorov or Valimaki are also former firsts

"A former first round draft pick and 2 prospects "
Who are the top prospects that are also not former first rounders.

That's pretty frustrating.
That's a huge offer for a guy with an injured neck and who won't be ready to play for months.
If they want more than that, they can go #### themselves IMO.

So even if we just fill in the blanks and that works out to something like:
Tkachuk
2022 1st Round Pick
One of Valimaki, Pelletier, Zary (Former 1st rounder)
Wolf
Ruzicka
That is too much and Flames should not be upping the offer past that for sure.

If that’s what the flames are offering, Buffalo should be retaining at least $2 million of Eichel’s salary. That’s a huge offer. If that’s what the flames are offering, what could Vegas be offering that beats that?
