Only if they retain some of that contract.

We retain half of Hiller's contract for this season, and they retain $1 million of Howard for the remainder.

Ya I definitely think it was the 2016 1st that scared Treliving away... and I agree with him.

There are other options out there and the Flames aren't exactly desperate for a starter, Hiller is serviceable and Ortio could surprise.

If Hawks were smart they'd do whatever they can to lock him up long term at $4M. He'll only get more expensive the longer they wait.
