Didn't intend that. Not my fault you didn't read the thread.

I disagree, while the Av's have a lock on the best young stars already in the Nhl, the farm is nothing special. Their future lies entirely how they manage who they keep and when they trade these stars, which would make me nervous if I was a Colorado fan( letting Stastny walk for absolutely nothing for a glorious first round exit)

No offence though, towner. I shouldn't have added that last eye roll. Many a thread has escaped me regarding certain details/background info.
As said though, he's limiting his options to 4 Monday and then will make a decision. I won't be heartbroken if he signs elsewhere, but still want him here.

Would they guarantee him a spot? Hearing crickets from other teams (but they might be playing cards close to their vests). But if one team tells him we've got a spot and others don't, advantage to that team.

I suspect no team will guarantee him a spot, and would be surprised if he didn't already know that. Only the Oilers management are stupid enough to engage in this sort of negotiating tactic with players signing their ELCs.

Yah, I'm going to have to disagree on the Avs being the team of the next decade. Not with that defence core anyways.

avs would be a good contender here if i were hayes. Sure they may need to build their D up a bit, but their forward core is in their primes over the next several years.
duchene, landeskog, o'reilly, mackinnon. That is being stacked with high end forwards in that prime age group. Is there any other team that even comes close to this right now? Hayes should be able to slot into their 3rd line with the intention to push into a 2nd line role with some elite talent to play with.
i think we'll see them improve the dcorpse over the next season or two to round them into being a bonafide western conference contender.

The Avs would be great if they signed Hayes, they would have so much forward depth that they could just trade someone like Hayes for help on their back end...

The issue in this new cap era is there's no way the Avs can afford to keep all those guys long-term. Yeah they're together now, but it's fairly safe to say they won't all be together 4-5 years from now.

Bruins are one of the finalists:
Danny Picard @DannyPicard now
As I reported Saturday on WEEI, the #Bruins are trying to sign Kevin Hayes, and are one of 5 teams that will talk to him & his agent today.

According to this guy the Flames are not a finalist
Danny Picard @DannyPicard
Those sources also tell me the 5 teams in mix for Kevin Hayes that talk to him today are: Colorado, Nashville, #Bruins, Pittsburgh, & NYR.

Wouldn't surprise me, there's zero talk on twitter about Hayes from a Calgary media perspective.

@BradTrelivingGM: Frustrated. I thought a rookie max contract and two annual passes to Heritage Park was going to be all it would take. #KevinHayes #flames
