Nice to see Ferland rolling on with the points. Love this kid.

And Rhino keeps putting up points. Awesome to see.

Really great they won tonight. Good teams find a way to win, even if they don't have a great game.

And I'd like to thank all the contributors keeping the rest of us abreast of the goings on. Really appreciate the time you guys take.

A lot of positives for the Heat (obviously), but one thing that might be a bit concerning is Corban Knight is now pointless in 5 straight games.

He had 18 points in 22 games, now has 18 in 27 and has dropped from 2nd in Heat scoring, to 6th.

Hopefully just a bit of a lull.

Three stars:

1. Joni Ortio
2. Brett Olson
3. Ben Street

Crazy that Reinhart didn't get one, but oh well.
Reinhart took a star last night from Ortio/Granlund. Things just evened themselves out.

While he's dropped off a bit offensively, this isn't entirely uncommon of a rookie. Especially one that basically carried the load until we were blessed with the return of the almighty Ben Street.

What's very nice to see however is that he's still playing very well away from the puck and in his own zone. Tonight he blocked three shots on one PK and had a few takeaways. It's always nice to see a struggling player still find a way to contribute.

From those hi-lights Max was just flying out there. Great to see.

Ferland just so confident out there. Exciting prospect.

They didn't show either teams 2nd goals in that highlight pack. Ah well.

Soooo many empty seats.

Can't believe they didn't add Ben Street's goal. It was easily the best one of the night. Oh well.

What? I was at a Guildford Flames game a week ago, which is not even the top hockey league in the UK, and Sunday night attendance there was 1850.

Come on Abbotsford, support your team!

Derek Smith cleared waivers and has been assigned to the Heat.

Thank you hockey gods. Smith and Billins on D for the 1st PP unit...yes, oh yes.

For anyone that hasn't been paying close attention, here is what the Heat have done this season:

First 10: 5-4-1

Since then: 15-2-1

And they are starting to get guys back. Smith just sent down, Wotherspoon and Cundari healthy, Reinhart back. Byron should be back soon and Sieloff probably isn't too far.

If the Flames can get healthy, BJones and maybe even Baertschi could join the team as well.

Really exciting team down there.

Yeah, as long as Smiths attitude is good, this addition really bolsters the D core.

1. Billins
2. Smith
3. Cundari
4. Wotherspoon
5. Ramage
6. Arsene / Lamb / Mackenzie

Injured - Sieloff

...and at this point I imagine Lafranchise is on his way back to Alaska.

Anybody see how B Connolly played? What line was he used on, and did they see much TOI?

I'm messing around with a blog right now, it's in its very early stages, but let me know what you think and if you are interested in contributing.

Here's my post on Derek Smith coming to the Heat.

That's my article all right!

Ward can talk forever about Ferland haha. Just talking to Ferland you can really see the vast difference between 2012/13 Ferland and 2013/14 Ferland. He's a much better talker with the media as well.
