I never doubt Masai and Co's moves, however, their 1st rounder looks like he'll take a few years to fill out. Tiny guy.

The NBA draft is the biggest crap shoot of all of the major sports. If Malachi turns into anything it would be a steal at 29.

Not to get too technical but I think baseball is up there as well. And yup, who knows if the guy will make it but the Raps recently seem to have a good track record of drafting and developing. So I hope the guy can be Lowry’s replacement.
As for the Raps plans, I’m probably among the few that are pretty stunned that FVV is likely to be brought back given his salary of $20MM+ per season. He’s worth about that much but again, what’s the plan for having roughly $55MM locked up in two PGs who are undersized and not franchise carriers? Masai and Co are geniuses so I’m curious what they have up their sleeve because I can’t see what they have coming in the cap world.

Feeling bad for Klay Thompson. Apparently tore his Achilles tendon now. This after missing all of last season due to a torn ACL. Guy cant buy a break.

I believe in the Jays.

It will be very difficult for Klay to return to the same level of play after those two brutal injuries in a row. That’s awful.

Well, to be fair, Klay doesn't actually move with the ball very much so even if it does take a toll I think he can still be effective. The question is more on defense, it seems to me.
But who knows. I hope he can come back, he's good for the game and seems a decent fellow.

And just like that Oubre is gone from OKC and moving to the Warriors. Warriors give up 2021 first rounder (or two 2nd rounders if GSW finish in the top 20). Honestly I don't know what Presti's next move is going to be.

that's a shame. Shai/Oubre could have been a lot of fun.

I want to see him trade 10 first round picks for something.

Or publicly declare, "sup Giannis, come sign with us and I'll let you do what you want with all of these things."

Miami makes so much sense for Giannis. He and Butler would be a formidable duo for several years.

so the Bogdanovich trade to the Bucks has not only collapsed, the league is now investigating for tampering. Bogdanovich is now set to sign an offer sheet from the Hawks.
a penny for Giannis' thoughts.

I really don’t understand this
Can’t they just match the offer and trade him to Bucks ?
What is the point of this from Bogdanovichs standpoint ? Couldn’t he have just asked for the same deal from Bucks ?

He manages a small market team in an NBA that is about being able to attract star players...sadly for OKC they aren’t exactly a destination.
For OKC the best chance they have is trying to build through the draft and get stars that way. Like they did the first time with Harden, Durant, and Westbrook, Ibaka. Issue for them is last time they sold a couple years too early on Harden which closed the window.

doesn't really matter if it's NBA, NHL or NFL - as a franchise, it's best to lock away your GM without his phone on the first day of free agency. So many bad deals.
OKC gets yet another 1st for dealing Steven Adams to New Orleans, lol.

The more I think about it, the strategy is so odd. With the NBA rules for trading salaries it somewhat has to be like for like no? So dealing picks for contracts is more complex. What are they expecting to do with all those picks? I think everything from trading up to potentially taking on flyers with bad contracts using those picks, is likely on the table but they’re putting a ton of pressure on their GM to make deals eventually as those picks won’t all play on the team at the same time. Whatever they’re trying seems like overkill.
As for Freddy signing, signed for about what he was worth. Let’s see what else Masai has tomorrow.
Regarding playing in Florida, that must be a potential proof of concept for an expansion franchise. These sports teams don’t try things out just because.
