So a mix of U18s and U23s for Villa today against Liverpool in FA cup as bodymoor Heath has a huge covid outbreak. This game is not going to be pretty. Excited to see Louie Barry and Kesler though!

I believe in the Jays.

I think Rhys Williams has been beat for a goal in nearly every senior start. He doesn’t look like he has the speed to play the high line.
Villa’s youngsters are playing really well so far.

I'm beginning to doubt your credentials.

Another pathetic outing from CP - parked the bus against a Wolves team that can't score.

U a wolves fan? I dont think palace really parked the bus so much as they arent that good and can't keep the ball ha. They have good pieces in certain positions but their engine room lacks skill on the ball. They can only really play counterattcking football with the personnel they have. Their front four area bit better this year though. And they have ok centre backs. But pretty dire elsewhere when you stack them up against any bigger spenders.

Spurs had better make this easy. Nice to see Marine has both James Joyce and Neil Young though, and I wish there were supporters in the stadium, in part because the songs for those two might be amusing.

Yes, Wolves fan. I think CP, as they are currently constituted, should not be playing that style against mid and lower echelon teams. Sure, when they are up against the big teams, no options. But to play the same way against their peers and "lessers" is really negative. They have a lot of talent, but the talent is very inconsistent, and, you are right, the midfield is weak.

Wow Crawley...
Yeah Vlad I agree would be nicer to see them be more positive. They tend to lose when they have more possession though even against mid/lower table teams. McArthur and Milovojevic are their two starting mids and they even when they have a lot of the ball they just don't have the ability to play incisive passes. More likely when they try and play forward passes against a team thats set they give it away resulting in a counter and get hit.
Wouldnt really say I'm a big palace fan as a North American coming late to epl with no family ties but have been watching them closely the last ten years or so they've been in the prem and have a growing soft spot for them. Adding quality box to box ability in midfield is a big need for them (probably second only to cutting a deal with sainburys and getting their new stand going) unless they want to keep countering forever.
Also, you gotta be enjoying the last few years! What a turn for wolves.

Well instead of Villa on Wednesday, it’s now Spurs and Fulham as Villa has too many out due to Covid. This is probably sensible for Spurs because we have too many games coming and really nowhere to reschedule to at this point.
This is not great for Fulham though. They played a long game this weekend and were supposed to have 6 days off, which is now 3 before us and then Saturday they play Chelsea.

Yeah it’s not great for Fulham but this whole season is weird. Would have been impossible for Villa as their training ground is still closed cause of the outbreak until Wednesday, so even if they had some of their first team clear they would have had 8 days with zero training allowed. And other teams would have been very pissed if they forced Villa to play their u18/23s again, essentially gifting 3 points to a team challenging at the top.

This is my concern: Right now the FA is shuffling the deckchairs on the Hindenburg. Its all going down.
I'm wondering if they've had any serious conversations about shutting this thing down for a few weeks.
I just see every tiny little easing of restrictions followed by an exponential increase in infections.

There is an international break in april i think, that needs to be cancelled
Teams could make up 2 or 3 games in there if needed

I'm relieved. Someone had to be their first victim, and we play them Sunday!
