Aaaaand the rollercoaster shifts back and forth from Jagr to Iggy. At this point I feel like neither will happen, but I seriously hope we land at least one of them.
I don't know what you think a rollercoaster is but you may want to try pendulum in your analogy.

Yes you're right. A pendulum is better to describe the discussion between the two. The rollercoaster I refer to are the emotions I feel. The wild excitement of rumors and possibilities followed by the valleys of no news and no signing as of yet.
What would be nice if is some reporter just asked him straight up if Calgary was an option and clear it all up. Of course you probably wouldn't get a straight answer.
With Fleury it was never about the team or the city, it was about him, him, and him. Fleury was a great player for a short period of time, but he was a mouth piece and malcontent his entire career. Sadly, Fleury never got past himself and looked at things from the larger perspective. Fleury was a great talent, but he was - still is - a horrible human being.
It actually pains me to say all of this because Mike Vernon is my least favorite Flame of all time, yes, even ahead of Fleury in that regard.

You make being a fan look like so much fun.
Edit: Quote fail on my part. Meant to post this in the Retire #14 thread. Point still stands, but sorry for the irrelevant bump.. Mods, feel free to move/delete.
Team and community before individuals. I cheer for the team, and their success, over that of individuals. The second individuals put themselves before the team is the second I no longer support the player. Teams win. Individuals don't.

You must still work for your first employer, being such a "team player" and all.

I’ve heard Fleury had some unfortunate circumstances growing up, might have contributed to his “me first” attitude you claim he has.
You might want to practice a little compassion before judging someone like that. He’s been pretty progressive in speaking about the abuse he experienced. I imagine that’s helped a lot of victims.
In any case Fleury is undoubtedly one of the best Flames players of all time, that’s not up for debate.
