Lawyers working for the "Lumpy Pillow Guy" have asked for permission to stop representing Lindell in defamation lawsuits claiming they are owed millions of dollars in unpaid bills.
So, I'm watching Global News right now and apparently Biden used executive powers today to expand the border wall that Trump started. What's this about? Surprising given the Democrats' stance on Trump's wall.

From what I understand he used executive powers to waive restrictions to allow construction of some wall.
The actual wall construction was part of money that was appropriated in 2019, before Biden's presidency. The WH says they tried to get the money reallocated to spend on something else but that wasn't approved.
So the White House is saying that they have no choice but to proceed with the construction, as is DHS:
Quote:
Congress appropriated fiscal year 2019 funds for the construction of border barrier in the Rio Grande Valley, and DHS is required to use those funds for their appropriated purpose,
Biden himself said today that he doesn't think more border wall will help.
That's the White House story anyway.. But I think the White House could opt to NOT spend that money at all if they can't spend it else where...
So Fox and the right are criticizing Biden for lying about saying he wouldn't build any new wall and now is building new wall.. if you believe Biden he's doing it because he has to.
But what it feels like to me is they probably think that some more barriers would actually be helpful but don't want to be seen politically as building a wall after being "anti-wall" (whatever that means).
I mean all of this is stupid, Obama built barriers, barriers probably make sense in some cases (fences, bollards, whatever). But like everything else it's a giant political football and everyone has to be either on one side or another with no room for nuance.

"Months after leaving the White House, former President Donald Trump allegedly discussed potentially sensitive information about U.S. nuclear submarines with a member of his Mar-a-Lago Club -- an Australian billionaire who then allegedly shared the information with scores of others, including more than a dozen foreign officials, several of his own employees, and a handful of journalists"
If Jack Smith can prove that in court that's pretty damning.
Trump requested that case be moved to Dec 2024 today too, after the election of course.

Yeah, appreciate the summary as I haven't had a chance to look into all the details. I suspected this might be a case of 'use it (funding) or lose it', but also assumed that optics and perception was driving some of the messaging.
Trump says he’d accept the speakership while Republicans decide on a permanent replacement. It’s against Republican rules but rules don’t apply to Republicans.
Trump just dropped his defamation suit against his former attorney Michael Cohen.
Afraid of deposition.
I suspect the dropping off the lawsuit is less about being fearful of deposition (which I'm sure he is), and more about a $500 Million lawsuit against the guy who spoiled the dirt on him was really only a publicity stunt anyways

If Trump spent all of the money he fundraised for lawsuits on actual lawsuits, how would he get rich?
