If the deferenceman is dalton prout sure. I honestly don't see us going after hayes unless jankowski goes the other way.

I really do hope Treliving has offers out to both Rags and Sens, and first one to take the offer means the other is done, mainly because of the 1st rounder involved. And I hope that deadline is tonight.

One of our young dmen plus a first would be a better package than Ottawa got for Duchene. (Not including the condition on re-signing).
Doubt it’s that’s much IMO

He won a Stanley Cup last year too and played in 16 playoff games for the Caps. An ok depth playoff pickup for the third or 4th line for a cheap price.

Giving up Kylington and a 1st rounder for a 3rd line UFA centre with bad possession numbers would suck. I don't mind Hayes but he is not worth that much especially as a rental.

presumably, he didn't play much of a role in that since Caps didn't sign him after their SC win and none of the other 30 teams picked him up afterwards.
only made the Oilers afer a PTO even with their AHL level line up...
