Woman born deaf hears her own voice for the first time.
I started tearing up a bit at the end. She's so happy... I'm glad technology has found a way to help the hearing impaired. Sound is a big part of our lives, and it's now finally a part of hers too
My boss' son has those implants, they are fairly expensive, but totally worth every penny. He told me there are parents in the deaf community who refuse to let their kids get them, because they are part of the "deaf culture/community" and it's wrong to change them. I found that opinion to be one of the more ridiculous viewpoints I had ever heard.

Agreed. How could you deny someone the gift of hearing music, laughter, the ocean etc?
