With the 322nd pick in the CP Movie Draft, StrayBullet selects, Ray starring Jamie Foxx. Ray will fulfill the Non-Fiction / Documentary category.
Jamie Foxx does an outstanding job portraying Ray Charles in this film directed by Taylor Hackford. From Charles' speech, to nuances and traits, Foxx was just incredible and had me captivated the entire time. Strong performances from Kerry Washington, Regina King, Harry Lennix and Curtis Armstrong as the legendary Ahmet Ertegun, makes Ray my favorite bio film.

"Georgia" - The actual song... Not a clip, but a great song nonetheless.

I decided to go with this because I realized it is one of the few sports movies that I have seen more than once. I also decided to go with it because I think it has everything a good sports movie should have in it: some great street-balling sequences, lots of fast, colorful banter, the obligatory theatric final game, hustling, Rosie Perez vying for and then appearing on Jeopardy, and a cast of actors all clad in sweet early-90s SoCal clothing. Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes are so much fun to watch, and the comedy effectively carries the story. Lots of location shooting provides for an authentic feel; the setting the characters in this movie inhabit is integral to the storyline. Basketball is definitely the star of the show, but there are many other things to enjoy in White Men Can't Jump.
It was cool to like this movie when I was in school.
With our 12th pick of the draft, 324th overall, The Team With No Name is very proud to select in the FANTASY category, David Lynch's Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.
If you don't like David Lynch you probably hate this movie. I'm a fan of his and this film is probably my second favorite Lynch movie. Fire Walk With Me is the prequel to the short lived but much loved television series Twin Peaks. The film explores the days leading up to Laura Palmer's murder.
Nobody makes movies like David Lynch. His use of color is amazing and the use of music, especially in this film with Angelo Badalamenti's score. It's mesmerizing really. If you like the bizarre you will love this film. So many unique and well...bizarre characters populate the screen!
Lynch's vision of small town America is so fascinating to watch and you can see some similarities in his films regarding it. The best thing about Lynch other than his obvious talent is that he is a native of Missoula, Montana!

Lynch as agent Gordon Coleand the FBIs unique communication techniques. (skip ahead to the 3:00 mark)
Perfect Lynch Bizzarity!
One of the worst movie scenes ever? PUH_LEEZE!
I wish I could find a clip with the full scene. My favorite of the movie.

Extremely moving movie, beautifully shot in B.C. and wonderfully acted by Ian Holm, Bruce Greenwood and a young Sarah Polley. The first time I saw this movie, I was asleep on the couch in the mdidle of the night. (fell asleep there..not banished to!) and Polley's version of The Tragically Hip's 'Courage' woke me up. It was strange. So I ended up watching the rest of the movie and then had to go rent it to see the beginning. It's haunting and deals with one of the most horrific topics imaginable, dealing with the death of children. Highly recommended. I think this is another example of how effective scoring and cinematography can be. Seems to be a theme among my picks.

With the 326th choice in the CP Movie Draft, StrayBullet selects, (with reluctance, thanks to DFF - Yes, I'm still bitter...) City Slickers starring Billy Crystal. City Slickers will fulfill the Western criteria
An excellent comedy with hilarious chemistry between Billy Crystal and Daniel Stern. Directed by Ron Underwood and perhaps not a traditional 'Western', but still a funny movie and will always give me memories of my junior high days. Jack Palance also won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Curly.

It's Just a Flesh Wound are thrilled to be able to select in the 13th round, representing the Western category, a classic of the genre starring everyone's favourite no name;
For A Few Dollars More (1965)
(Per qualche dollaro in pił)
The second part of the Dollars trilogy, I'm amazed that this one is still available, unless I missed something.....

Nice one. I'm guessing the entire dollars trilogy is taken up now. One more Leone western left...I wonder who's gonna take it.
GREAT pick with The Sweet Hereafter Dis...One of the most affecting movies I've ever seen. Ian Holm's greatest performance in my mind (from a truly remarkable career). Atom Egoyan's finest work to date.
I know it's my turn, but I'm still debating my next selection, I'll have it up around 6. Sorry for the wait.

Thanks very much. I think it is far and away Bruce Greenwood's best work as well, not that his body of work is comparable to Holm's. It's a haunting film.
If anyone here hasn't seen it, do it.

Sorry, I'm still late, I had to work overtime this afternoon, so this will be brief to keep us moving. Team MissTeeks selects, in the Black and White category, Roman Holiday.
Princess Anne embarks on a highly publicized tour of Europian capitals. When she and her royal entourage arrive in Rome, she begins to rebel against her restricted, regimented schedule. One night Anne sneaks out of her room, hops into the back of a delivery truck and escapes her luxurious confinement. However, a sedative she was forced to take earlier starts to take effect, and the princess is soon fast asleep on a public bench. She is found by Joe Bradley, an American newspaper reporter stationed in Rome. He takes her back to his apartment. The next morning Joe dashes off to cover the Princess Anne press conference, unaware that she is sleeping on his couch! Once he realizes his good fortune, Joe promises his editor an exclusive interview with the princess.
