Skyline from yesterday (just after the clouds started the break), with the final crane "shopped" off the Bow.

For amusement . . . . . . everything is new for Ruby, including intruders like this. In spite of her just under 1.5 years of life, we get the distinct impression Ruby didn't get out much in her previous two homes. Running streams are a scary novelty, she seems to think she has a serious chance of catching sparrows as they streak by and she follows in hot pursuit and then incidents like this below . . . . . she barked at elk and deer initially - from a distance - but now just studies them largely in silence, even if they're in the yard, giving chase only if they start first. Abby and Keeper, former Golden denizens of our place, would careen into packs of deer in the yard like two bowling balls, scattering them everywhere.
and below, Ruby has at least one thing in common with two generations of dogs before her, taking a chomp out of the left ear - never the right - of this cat gnome that has followed us around for more than two decades.
and . . . . . winter's end on our lonely country road - although watch for that view in the upcoming Francis Ford Coppola movie On The Road, the film adaptation of the Jack Kerouac novel. There was a day of filming on our corner last Fall.
