Seesh, for two (nearly) waiver guys to this. Wild.

I'm glad we got rid of Kuzmenko. Anyone who refuses to wear a pride jersey can take a hike. We never should have brought him in.

Interesting that Kerins isn't taking some random ass number. Maybe looking into it too much though.
How often are aging centers sliding into a wing role? Personally don't think it would work with Backs given how responsible he is defensively and having played center his whole career but maybe the following?
Backlund - Zary - Coleman
That'd leave:
Huby - Kadri - Coronato
Farabee - Frost - Sharangovic
Lomberg - Pospisil - Klapka
Would love that 4th line

After Conroy's fleecing of Vancouver in the Lindholm deal, I knew the team was in good hands with regard to personnel management, and reading the universal anger among Flyers fans on their board, it looks like he's done it again. So nice to trust the decision makers now...

I dont get this fascination with pospisil as a center is. To my mind getting frost is so we dont have to keep putting wingers at center.

Conny will have plenty of time to regale them on the flight back about the story of how Noodles pranked Iggy but Gélinas was blamed when Sutter found out.

This is a very exciting trade. Trading from the abundance of wingers that the Flames have to bring in a top 6 center and a winger with a good goal scoring pedigree is smart management. The Flames needed an offensive boost and now they've got one.
When Zary is back I am hoping to see them try this:
Huberdeau - Kadri - Farabee
Zary - Frost - Coronato
Sharangovich - Backlund - Coleman
Lomberg - Pospisil - Klapka
I would also understand leaving Coronato with Backlund and Coleman to finish out his development year, but I would love to see Zary and Frost together. The skill and creativity of those two guys together could be magic.

Farabee's game is similar to the forwards that Huberdeau had success with in Florida. They definitely need to give him some looks on the top line.

Agreed. I was cautiously optimistic when he took over ... but I absolutely love him now. I have complete faith in his abilities.
If he stays on this track for a couple of years he could prove himself to be among the league's best GMs.

Darn, I wanted Kerins to take his old junior number (and his favourite player's number), 23. I'm sure Monahan would have approved.

Backlund was tried on the wings with Monahan centering a few seasons ago (lasted maybe 10 games?), he looked extremely out of place and voiced that he didn't like it. I think the team would probably keep Zary on the wing if it meant having to shift Backlund

There is no chance that they are going to split up every line , when current lines have got them in a wild card spot.

It's funny ... with Kuzmenko making the most of a five-game showcase and Pelletier right at the tail end of his development curve, this might actually be a trade that had to happen now to make sense.
Two months ago, Philly doesn't do this. In two months, I suspect they probably don't do this. It had to happen now!

In the summer I think there was an interview with Kuzmenko where he said he doesn't skate and takes a break from hockey to recharge. He might need to change that up because last year and this one his poor starts have really set him back. Even in his first year he got hot at the end of the season.
Seems like he needs to change up something in his routine so he's better to start the season.

One problem with your theory. Frost is not American. He is Canadian.
