Some thought the 16th vs Leicester may get cancelled anyway because it's the 10th day from the original positives, and the rules are you need to quarantine for 10 days, and there have been more positives since then.

The 22nd is a league cup quarter final, the semi finals are 14 days later, so not really anytime to reschedule

So I dont see how the game fits anywhere before the 22nd, after which Rennes are off for 2 weeks and I dont see anyway the club agrees to let them play even if UEFA set a date
Allegedly (I have no idea as to the validity of this), Spurs had suggested the 15th, and Rennes immediately declined. I’m not sure why they would take that approach, because I think they only had three games until their break. Maybe that was posturing for the forfeit? Regardless, we’ve made some enemies because of this. I don’t understand why, because it’s obviously not within our control, but Rennes was super pissed about this.

Because the game was called off after Rennes had already travelled.

Everyone knew it wouldn't happen early yesterday

Yeah and that sucks. What exactly was Tottenham supposed to do? I mean it sucks that they cancelled at the last minute, but to me that’s on UEFA as much as anything. Why didn’t they take action earlier, being the governing body?

He doesn't seem to grasp that.

What were they supposed to do? How about NOT stating in an early afternoon email that the game was going ahead allowing Rennes to jump on the plane to London only to arrive to hear that the Spurs had decided now that the game wouldn't be going ahead.

And yeah.... Bad UEFA. It's all their fault.
Their fault that the Spurs sent the email informing everyone that the game was going ahead.
And totally their fault for not postponing a game when no official documentation requesting postponement was submitted.

Yes. This is the perfect opportunity to get to hell out of that competition and save face.
Younse are already looking at a PL fixture pile up without factoring in those games.

They should just cram those Spurs games in during the Christmas season.

Lets get some back-to-backs in there! Surely London to Rennes isnt as bad as some NHL or MLB travel!

Play a match, fly to France play again and then fly back and play another match!

Lets really get this going!

Or set up a Football pitch on a decommissioned Aircraft Carrier in the English Channel so teams can just fly in and out while Spurs get juice and orange slices between matches!

"Oh my! The pitch has rolled in a swell and the ball has gone in! VAR has their work cut out for them on that one!"

The issue with that is ligue 1 have a winter break from the 22nd to january 8th

No chance they agree to play during that

Well...I was far from being serious. I think every league other than England have a winter break.

Fine, fine, they can move the Aircraft Carrier out into International Waters.

Monkey Knife-fights as half-time entertainment.

The winning Monkey has to cut the Orange Slices though!

on the day that Pogba's and Martial's agents talk up prospective moves, Rangnick comes out with this:

I guess that was a case of not enough evidence to overturn for that penalty, but that definitely did not look like a penalty to me. That Jiminez red before, however, was so ridiculous, an absolutely brain dead move by him.

yeah, joke of a decision. Tells you everything you need to know about the quality of English refs that they could look at a situation like this 10 times on the screen and still confirm the wrong decision.

Hahaha, Salah with the dive. Sure, there’s contact, but he’s halfway down.

I thought the city penalty should never have been given but mings bundled into Salah for my money. Salah is good at drawing them and definately goes over easy but minus didn't even give himself a chance, no choice for ref or var.

Stevie sure is parking the bus hard here, seems like he only wants to keep the score low rather than win

Chelsea getting a questionable penalty as well on another showcase day for the quality of English refs.

That wasnt pretty but points is points especially with Chelsea and City similarly on the receiving end of gifts.

A night to forget from the top of the table.

Yeah, Stevie parked that bus and parked it hard. Villa went the entire 90 without a shot fired in anger.

Wow, was it a half-off sale on Penalties today?

I feel like someone in the Referees' Union lost a bet or something.

Or made one...
