Having a bunch of different producers and associate producers, etc.. is normal. But damn, that's a crowded writer's room. It's a miracle those people get anything done at all with so many different voices, ideas, and opinions flying around.
I'm almost hoping this isn't the final cut, to me it looks really video game quality.
The graphics? Really?
Star Trek has a ridiculous budget at the moment. We're used to models on strings thrown by drunken interns.
Tell a good story and I'll forgive the graphics.
Mount's intro seemed a bit wooden, but aside from that...please...people going out into space learning things and solving problems would be...crazily, a refreshing change for Star Trek.

Some of the initial reviews of the first 5 episodes of Strange New Worlds leave me cautiously optimistic - single-episode stories, focus on multiple characters, aesthetic drawing on the original series. Apparently much more like Star Trek used to be.

Old school Star Trek, that is. Original recipe Star Trek.
The series seems most at home telling old-school, strictly episodic Trek stories — the kind that get resolved at exactly the :50-minute mark, come hell or high water.
One space battle, one diplomatic summit, one alien virus, one spatial anomaly, one transporter accident at a time.

I hope its true. The trailers leave me with a lot of hope...but riding the coattails of Picard and Discovery...I dont have a lot of hope or faith left in Trek.
My Trek faith is about where my Star Wars faith was at the end of The Last Jedi.
So...not a good place.

holding out hope that we get a "mandalorian" at the end of this dark tunnel. But the equivalent would probably be a whole show set in the bowels of a klingon bird of prey.
I think an entire series focused on Tribbles is what Star Trek really needs.
Tribbles building a space ship and trekking through space seeking out strange new also furry and fluffy life forms.
"Tribble Trek"
Would be better than discovery. No doubt. A ship full of Tribble might become a galactic threat quite quickly depending on their ability to aim the ship at the next world.

Can you imagine tribbles getting assimilated by the Borg? They’d probably look like BB8s.

A bar so low even Hermes Conrad could not limbo under it.

Ooof, the Picard finale is not good. At least they're back in space by the end of it. Surprise (to me) appearance of an old castmate didn't help things.
Strange New Worlds was a solid start. First episode didn't start like a typical serialized Star Trek show (any of the first 5 series or Orville) but I think they got there by the end. Looking forward to seeing how it goes.
