Guess Yeo was told no by Brad this morning, and the Blues picked him up.
Don't like that hire for the Blues at all.

He's replacing Hitchcock in 17-18.

As a fan of a Western Conference team that would be great.

Why not? They are probably paying him the same so that they can have him is their succession plan. And he is taking over a really good team after next season.

According to @mattsekeres, three finalists for #Flames coaching job are Randy Carlyle, Glen Gulutzan, Todd Reirden.
First mention I've heard of Rierden actually being a candidate.. that tells me hes the frontrunner if so, best possible choice in my opinion.. been my hope since day 1

Looks like it is Reirden.
All the boxes Treliving had get checked off.
Great with defensemen, powerplay guru, great communication, very bright mind. Learned from alot of great coaches including Quenneville.

I'll agree on front runner because BT seems to conduct business with a behind closed doors and doesn't seem to leak much. I expect Reirden to be announced as the next HC.

Definitely BTs style for name to surface for first time just before announcement.

After doing some homework on Reirden, I'd be more than happy to see him become HC of the Flames.

Thats exactly my mindset on it.. many boards including this one mentioned him as an ideal candidate.. but not once was he officially linked as being considered .. now a the end hes a finalist ?.. ya I'll be really surprised if hes not the guy.
i wouldn't be surprised if every time they thought media was getting close, Burke went out to be seen publicly with Carlyle on purpose LOL

Another article on Reirden's PP coaching prowess. Looking forward to getting the most out of Hamilton and Gaudreau on PP...
http://www.nwitimes.com/sports/colum...2ed07aef9.html
"Our power play has been at a pretty solid clip, 25 percent or more, the last couple of years," Bylsma said. "Todd is a huge, huge part of that power play in terms of setting the stage for those guys.
"We have great players. The perception is anyone can make a power play with those guys but that's not always been the case for our team. Todd has set a great stage, a great environment, for those guys. They're probably the most tenacious part of our team."

Yeah of those 3 I would take Reirden. He is due for a shot and has been in some pretty good organizations.

Powerplay Quarterback

Makes sense since they waited till after the playoffs were over and Pittsburgh was done.

If you're referring to Reirden, he was coaching with the Caps this season. So they've had plenty of time to talk with him. He was in Pitt the season before.

Don't think Cup finals timing had anything to do with it, he's one year removed from the Pens now.

At this point, for me, it's
1. Gulutzan
2. Reirden
3. Carlyle

I will opt for Reirden if it has to be one of the three I suppose.
