Look at how Marchand didn't even acknowledge that goal or even attempt to skate over to the celebration. Obviously Hamilton is a cancer.

Brodie-Hamilton is the dream top-line long-term, but you can't bump Giordano. So it really comes down to whether we play Wideman with Brodie or find another right-handed d-man to play with him and keep Russell-Wideman together. Don't think Engelland is the guy for Brodie on the second pairing, but we'll see how the UFA market shakes out. Would rather keep Wideman at this point, Russell-Wideman would be arguably the best third pairing in the league and could easily handle 20 mins a night.

I would suggest the odds of Hamilton getting traded to a new team then signing an offer sheet from a 3rd team are essentially zero. It would ruin the player's reputation if anybody did that.

Remember a player has to actually choose to sign an offer sheet for it to happen.

How much of a character problem can Hamilton have when his former GM, not even 3 months removed, tried to move the farm for him?

Here's that audio interview with Conroy.
Great interview. People just give it a listen if they haven't.

And yet Brodie was the best Flame player over 11 playoff games.

Interesting article from the Boston Globe;

http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/20...WEN/story.html

Quote:
In time, Hamilton will become Victor Hedman: a powerful, mobile, do-it-all defenseman who can defend and attack. He joins Mark Giordano, TJ Brodie, Dennis Wideman, and Kris Russell on a defensive corps that is as strong, deep, and skilled as any six-pack in the league.
Quote:
The Bruins knew Hamilton better than anyone else. They identified his potential ceiling. But they also believed the ask was not reasonable given only three years of NHL service.

Some organizations have given defensemen of Hamilton’s caliber term and salary coming out of entry level. Drew Doughty and Pietrangelo were two such players. P.K. Subban, on the other hand, required a two-year bridge deal before scoring his eight-year, $72 million blockbuster.

“Clearly, there’s been a bunch of players that have jumped bridge deals and gone to the next one,” said Sweeney. “It’s up to the individual team and player themselves to find that deal to be made. Whether or not that would have existed here, I firmly believe it didn’t.”
Quote:
Defensemen like Hamilton are hard to find. Since Sweeney started his time in the front office in 2006, the Bruins have never had a defenseman with a comparable skill set.

I'd love to see a hit parade video of Dougie. Show him throwing his weight around.

He's got one heck of a shot, hardly any wind up and unpredictable release angle. No wonder he has so many points, unlike Bouwmeester who telegraphed his flubber shots for 3 or 4 seconds.

Oilers fans already talking about how they're going to offer-sheet Hamilton as soon as free agency starts.

Oiler fans are also talking how the signing of Dougie will cripple the Flames and that we will not be able to sign Gio because of this, and without Gio our defense is no good.

The insanity runs deep over there.

So how many first overalls would they be giving up to get an offer sheet done?

Outright bizarre comments about Brodie...

He lost his d-partner in Gio, one of the best in the NHL, and at 24 played top minutes in the final stretch seeing his team make the playoffs and was our best player in the Vancouver series in the playoffs all the while skating on a bad ankle.

TJ is a absolute stud. When Gio went down we saw flashes of just how good he is going to be when he tops out.

Hamilton and Brodie for the next decade is unreal for us.

Lol. The only comment was he was better on his own side. A little dramatic, no?
