Pros:
-Fantastic player (4.5-5 win type)
-Pure class act/leader in the lockerroom. Donaldson/Tulo/Martin as a new core in the lockerroom is a fantastic group.
Cons:
-On the hook for his huge salary going forward. Makes 20 mil through 2019. Then 14 mil in 2020, ending with a 15 mil team option in 2021 with a 4 mil buyout.
-Has had trouble staying on the field recently, barely played at all in 2011 and only played 91 games last season.
After the excitement of the Miami trade and the subsequent failure to produce by many of the pieces acquired in that trade I'm hesitant to plan the parade. For me it's going to come down to what prospects were given up and whether a legit starter is brought in. If this is the major move, the team is still screwed regardless. Time will tell

Assuming that everything stays as it appears right now, the Jays have a pretty impressive infield.

Jose Reyes likely to be flipped by #Rockies. Colorado has highly regarded shortstop prospect Trevor Story at Triple-A.

@Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: #Rockies owner Dick Monfort had told Tulo that he would not be traded A) w/o being consulted and B) to place he didn’t want to go.
@Ken_Rosenthal: Will be interesting to hear Tulo’s reaction. As others have mentioned, he might not be enthusiastic about playing on turf in Toronto.

Sweet for historical sake . As per Rosenthal: mets 3rd team
I assume Reyes going back there to unite with Wright on the left side of their infield

Hard to lose a quality arm in Castro but Tulowitzki is a pretty big upgrade on Reyes.

Also of historical note: apparently in '05 draft most jays scouts wanted Tulo. JP Riccardi wanted Rickey Romero instead...

I like it less if Hoffman is included. Good young pitcher.

Yep. Seems like Hoffman is moving. Hard to give up quality prospects without addressing main organizational need.
I'm sure AA has plans and I hope that he can swing a deal for a pitcher.

Hoffman has actually been kind of crap this season since returning from injury. Lots of potential, but nothing in terms of results thus far.

The pen looks a lot better now
Schultz
Sanchez
Hawkins
Osuna
Tepara
Hendricks
Cecil
and possibly Joba
A lot better than it was before.
Now they need to get an okay starter or two and they're golden.
