Who knows, but in my mind that hit was totally deserving of 4 games. Just awful and dumb.

Who will the leafs likely target in the draft? Strome?

I'm not sure how much say he has in the pick, but Mark Hunter is part of their front office and picked Marner in junior.

Kadri is a repeat offender. That alone will get him more.

Record-low turnout at ACC for Monday night’s Leafs game
The Toronto Maple Leafs’ poor performance is finally hitting the team where it hurts — ticket sales.
Attendance at Monday night’s game between the Leafs and the Minnesota Wild was at a less-than-capacity 18,366 — the lowest attendance in the Leafs’ 16-year history at the ACC.
It was the second time since 2002 the Leafs didn’t have a sell-out crowd cheering them on the Air Canada Centre.
The only other non-sellout of the season was against Colorado on Oct. 14, which drew 18,754. The arena has a capacity of 18,819 for hockey games.
On StubHub, tickets just before Monday night’s game were selling for $29 a pair.

Unfortunately for Toronto their current ways would certainly get you in the draft lottery most seasons. But not this year...Points are more spread out than ever in the NHL and readily available...yet some how this season there are more teams who will finish with fewer than 65 points than any other year since the lockout. And since January 1st there are 3 teams who played at about a 35 point pace, which is impossibly bad in todays NHL.

Brunt: Maple Leafs ‘least likable group’ ever
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/b...le-group-ever/
Quote:
According to Sportsnet’s Stephen Brunt, apathy is a characteristic this current Maple Leafs team wears on its sleeves every night. Brunt pulled no punches when speaking about the Leafs when he joined Boomer & Rhett on Sportsnet 960.
"Part of what’s gone on here is that they’ve managed to produce a team that is not just bad, but appears to not give a damn," Brunt told Boomer and Rhett. "It’s almost rubbing it in people’s faces - the lack of try, the lack of effort."
|
Quote:
"They are the least likable group of professional athletes I think I’ve ever been around," said Brunt. "Just the way they play, outside of the arena, the way they come across – they come across as the opposite of plucky underdogs that are trying really hard even if they’re not quite good enough. This is talented guys who are getting paid enormous amounts of money who stopped trying a long time ago and are kind of laughing at everybody. That’s a bad vibe if you’re a consumer."

Ouch!

Why, oh why weren't teams offering enough for a guy who would be Anaheim's number one D?

Phaneuf is not a #3 D-Man. Ridiculous. If he was, his numbers would not be as good as they have been the last decade.
Dion Phaneuf would walk in on Anaheim, the team with the best NHL record and be their #1 guy.
And it's looking like Toronto's defensive numbers was a coaching issue.
