Jays teeing off against this pitcher in the 8th with multiple consecutive hits and 3 runs, but the Rangers are leaving him in.

The Yankees and Blue Jays are both cool on the idea of a reunion with Phillies right-hander A.J. Burnett, reports CSNPhilly.com’s Jim Salisbury.

Also in the same article there is discussion of Troy Tulowitzki possibly being traded; I have heard he has asked to be traded. I really hope the Jays are looking into that. I would be comfortable giving up Sanchez, roster player, and prospects.

Jose Reyes would have to be part of the package going the other way. I'm
Ok with that too. Would Gose stay up as our lead off hitter?

Keep Reyes and send Gose. Leave it up to Reyes, TT, and Lawrie to decide in their own who plays 3b, SS, and 2b and leave management out of it.
Thinking about it, I'd rather keep Gose and send Rasmus as I've heard he won't re-sign in TO

I doubt Colorado wants a less effective, more injury prone and expensive guy to replace Tulo.

Obviously not a straight up trade, my suggestion is pure speculation but it's built in a model that is used all the time. If you know something then feel free to add.

Trading for Tulo would cost Sanchez/Norris and Stroman/Hutchinson at least you would think.
Best SS in the league who would be targeted by all the big teams isn't going to go for second rate position players unless they are tossed in to free up salary.

Do you really think Rasmus has much value at all out there right now?
The Jays have gotta do something...this team needs a shot or two in the arm if its going to have any chance.

Yes, pitching more than anything wins games and Stroman could be an ace, I'd rather take a chance on him being that. If Stroman wasn't showing signs of it at the MLB level I'd be fine moving him

If you think he has potential to be an ace I could see you not trading him. I think he looks more like a 3rd starter guy so I would move him for a top 10 player in the majors like Tulo even though pitching is very important as you say.

Things went about as well results-wise for the Jays as they could have today with both the O's and Mariners losing. Good to see them keep with it and pull the victory out. Hopefully they can beat up on the Red Sox a bit over the next four games.

The Jays went 26 and 9 in the stretch in May and beginning of June. The rest of the time, they are 25 and 39.
Ugly.
Hopefully over the next stretch of games they can get a record closer to the former than the latter

The Blue Jays are interested in outfielder Chris Denorfia of the Padres, Morosi tweets. Denorfia has not hit well this season (.243/.293/.327 in 244 plate appearances), but he’s hit very well against lefties in his career. Like Padres teammate Chase Headley (in whom the Blue Jays have also shown interest), Denorfia is a free agent after the season.
|
They could really use some help against left handed pitching. Seems like the opposition can trot out any old left hander and shut the Jays down.

The Blue Jays and Yankees both scouted Cliff Lee‘s final rehab start, CSNPhilly.com’s Jim Salisbury writes. Lee returns from the DL to start against the Giants tonight, and scouts from several teams are expected in attendance for Lee’s two scheduled starts prior to the July 31st deadline.

The Blue Jays could consider the Phillies’ Kyle Kendrick if they aren’t able to make a higher-profile trade, CSNPhilly.com’s Jim Salisbury writes. A Jays scout watched Kendrick as he struggled in his start against the Braves on Sunday. It’s unclear what sort of return Kendrick might fetch — he has struggled this season, posting a 4.87 ERA, 5.5 K/9 and 2.5 BB/9 over 125 2/3 innings. Kendrick is eligible for free agency after the season.
|
If the Jays can add Lee that would be great, I'd rather keep the rotation the same than add Kendrick unless he is close to free.

Chase Headley's been putting up some good numbers this month. The Jays have been linked to him so often over the past while that I can see him being their target (of course, starting pitching would be great too).
If they end up doing nothing in the next 11 days, it's more damning of Rogers as owners than it is of AA, as far as I'm concerned.
