And honestly, regardless of your stance on guns or absolutely anything else, you're really trying to defend the dog owner here? "Who cares if it's a sidewalk, don't walk near it because your piece of #### neighbour's dog will escape, don't drive down the street either, wouldn't want to hit the dog after it escapes, right?"

As someone who isn't an advocate of guns, it's situations like this where I start seeing the pro-gun side. I don't think people should have to risk personal safety because of negligent neighbours.

Now then, you have the piece of #### dog owner, who can't even secure his fence or the very least leash his dog to prevent it from escaping who goes and gets his gun to confront another man with a gun. That's where the anti-gun crowd should be chiming in. Seriously, a guy who can't even be responsible for his fence and dog should have no right owning a gun.

No criminal charges.

"In this case, the justification would be he was protecting his own dog," District Attorney Dave Young said. "Clifford was pretty clearly attacking the other dog literally by the throat. His mouth was on the dog's throat. There's evidence to corroborate that when the other dog was taken to the vet, there was bruising around his neck that corroborates that."

While it's great that the man who fired the shot wont face charges, it's ridiculous that they aren't going after the family of the dog who was shot. They've admitted that their neighbours have expressed their concerns with their dog and the fence yet the dog jumps over the fence and attacks another dog. Should be facing some type of negligent charge for not doing enough to prevent their dog from escaping. The blame falls entirely on them and the end result was the death of an animal.

And I can't believe that any responsible pet owner would not have a massive issue with the dog who died owner.

The part about the dog was really tangential for me. I was struck more by how casually these people had guns available, and how it was very fortunate this did not escalate further. I wouldn't want to live in that world.

Why not add another shooting. Thankfully, nobody was killed.

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (AP) — Police in Pennsylvania say a man accused of shooting a bullet through a neighbor's window told a judge he fired the gun because it was the only way he knew how to unload it.
Middletown Detective Patrick Nicastro tells the Bucks County Courier Times that 31-year-old George Byrd IV of Penndel at first denied being behind the shooting but then acknowledged during his arraignment that he fired the weapon to clear the chamber because he was unfamiliar with guns.
Authorities say Byrd fired the gun early Friday afternoon in the suburban Philadelphia community. No one was injured.
Byrd is being held in the Bucks County jail on $20,000 bond. No attorney is listed on court papers.

The Democrats were jamming the gun clip. Self-defense first, ask questions later. The neighbour was possibly affiliated with al-Qaeda. Second amendment right to bear arms. The restaurant down the street offers 10% off if I carry a firearm and I was just testing it. This was all in Jesus' plan. They took my jerb. Rush Limbaugh said it was OK.

When discharging a gun because that's the only way you know how to unload it, why wouldn't you point it at the neighbors window.

Didn't know which way the bullet exits the gun?

Of course, the mum had a gun but it didn't do a damn thing for her, it was just random chance that her kid was around able to use the gun and it was bloody lucky she didn't shoot the mum instead or as well as the boyfriend.
They'd have been better off with a steel door and bars on the windows.

As a means of defence relying on your 11 year to shoot your ex is about as *****y as it gets.

Shall I quote a time where someone wasn't wearing a seatbelt and it saved them from being in a trapped burning vehicle?

Let me get this straight...

Barely a few weeks ago we were all doing a collective facepalm when a 9-year old girl shot and killed an instructor at a firing range, but now we're supposed to applaud an 11-year old girl who shot a domestic abuser?

So what's the lesson we're supposed to take from these two stories? Should we be arming little girls or not? Is 11 a magical age when they suddenly become responsible enough to shoot firearms but 9 is too young?

Michael Dunn guilty of murder.

Florida finally does something right.

Quote:
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A Florida jury found Michael Dunn, a middle-aged white man, guilty of first-degree murder on Wednesday in the shooting death of an unarmed black teenager in an argument over loud rap music.

Under Florida law, Dunn will be sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of Davis, plus 60 years in jail for his February convictions.

School shooting north of Seattle.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/24/us/was...html?hpt=hp_t2

Quote:
Investigators are responding Friday to a reported school shooting in Marysville, Washington, just north of Seattle, said Inci Yarkut, a spokeswoman for the Washington State Patrol.

CNN affiliate KIRO-TV in Seattle showed police cars and ambulances outside the school. Aerial shots showed students running out of the buildings, many with their arms up.

Meanwhile in Nebraska, it's alright to have pose with your gun for the yearbook photo.
