even if they sit it's a good experience for them. Just being around pro players and pro coaches should be helpful for their development. Train with the pro guys, find out what you need to do to get there and focus on those things during the summer.

Can't wait from him to sign a PTO to see Ward sit him for the next 3 weeks while the Heat miss the playoffs.
Most PTO sign just to get some pro experience training and being around a pro team. Only the top prospects get a chance to jump into play. Gordon is a 5th rounder that just got drafted, not all that surprising.

I love this place, have a hard time stopping myself from returning repeatedly throughout each day because I love talking Flames and hockey in general with what I consider to be mostly knowledgeable fans.
The butt hurt, one liner, whining, pathetic crap being posted in EVERY single gawdam thread is becoming quite tiresome though.

Ward's not a dumb man. I think he knows when they have no shot at the playoffs and when they still have a glimmer of hope.
Both Ward and the players know that they'd need at least an 80% winning percentage to make it AND hope for teams around them to lose. They're not going to make it.
I would imagine Kulak will get a game in because he's been practicing for a couple of weeks with the team now.

I hear you man ... it's tough right now. Hardly surprising though, it's what I expected to happen if they ever trade Iginla/embark on the necessary rebuild. But the Back Burner has always been a happy place, I hope it stays that way. And FWIW, I hope the Flames' AHL team stays in Abbotsford because I sure do appreciate all the updates from PMM.

Thing is, nobody enjoys that crap. Why do they keep spouting?
For the start Reinhart had, he seems to be having a lot of success lately. Don't know if it's because he has been getting more ice time or if it's because he raises his game during the stretch drive. Either way its good to see him getting results.
Question for those whom are more familiar with heat then myself. Who do you think will be the next call up beside Baertchi, wondering if you think we will see jones again or is it looking like Reinhart or someone else?
- Ben Walter continues to dominate the Bulldogs. He has 8 points in 7 games this year against Hamilton, including a goal and two assists tonight.
- Rookie d-man Drew MacKenzie has 7 points in his last 9 games and has been eating big time minutes each game.
- Rookie d-man Steven Siego has two points in his first two pro games.
- Rhino has 5 points in his last 5 games.
- Sven has 6 points in his last 6 games (didn't score in three of them though).
- Ben Street's got 3 points in his last 3 games.

My personal preference is Horak and if Feaster is intellectually honest and calls this season a wash, they should see what Reinhart can do on a call-up for shts and giggles.
What'll happen in reality? Sven's the logical choice, obviously. If not him, I'd expect one of Horak, Street, Jones, Aliu depending on whether or not they need a winger or centre.

Personally, I almost think Horak should go up before Baertschi since he looks more NHL ready and he's spent most of last year here and knows what it takes to be in the NHL. Sven would do better with a little more AHL conditioning and just get a little bigger so he's not bouncing off some of the men he's playing. He's almost there but watching him in the NHL, somethings missing.
I think with the recent trade as well, Sven might get more pressure on him to perform and "save" the Flames then he really needs at this point of his career. Maybe leave him there, let this trade set in for people and get more pieces in place for a rebuild so he can come in next year with a fresh slate and not the urgent expectation to save the Flames. Let him finish out the AHL season with scoring chances and points so he comes into camp full of confidence.

Point well taken, but by next week the Flames may need both depending on what the Flames do/trade.

Highlights of the Bulldogs vs. Heat game. By the way, these are worst put together highlights I've ever seen. I think someone in Bulldogs organization needs to step their game up a bit. Get better:

Looking more and more likely the Flames are out of Abbotsford next season.
The Blues shutdown their affiliate in Peoria and sold it to the Canucks. Blues are expected to sign an affiliation agreement with the Chicago Wolves shortly.
There is a possibility that the Canucks go to another city, but with all the rumors that have popped up recently, you gotta think the writing is on the wall.
