OKC and New Orleans must own like 50% of the picks in the next 4 NBA drafts

That's a pretty good supporting cast now for Giannis. Holiday, Middleton, Bogdanovich and Lopez, that's decent. They are giving up a ton for Jrue, but if that keeps you Giannis then it's more than worth it.

Looks like Rockets are blowing it up. Covington to Portland, plus Harden tries hard to get them to trade him to Brooklyn it seems.
I don't think it changes anything. Holiday doesn't move a needle for me. They made a move to appease the Greek but in the end he still has to do it all himself.

He has the year to see how far the Bucks get but Nets get Harden they'l be a tough beat, Celtics arent going anywhere, Rivers might get Embiid and Simmons to buy in and play together, Jimmy and Miami are hungry and you have the Raptors too. I just can't see him beating 3 of these teams to even get to the finals and face Davis and Lebron.

Didn't Davis just decline his option and is going to FA again? Maybe I read that wrong.

looks like Harden to Brooklyn is happening. How is Irving/Harden supposed to work? Wouldn't be surprised if this failed spectacularly.

Trade Kyrie for Westbrook too and rename them the Brooklyn Thunder.

Wow, just checked back after a day and so many stars potentially (likely) on their way out. To some degree I like the idea of Houston dumping two headcases which they'll get significant compensation and will get back within two years surely, but it's so unusual to see something like that happen. What are some of these teams thinking? Brooklyn loading up on headcases is really going to give the Knicks a run for the most dysfunctional franchise soon. As for Milwaukee going for it, I don't see the three firsts that bad a price to pay for their names. If Giannis walks they just deal those guys and get that value back. I don't doubt Giannis will walk. There's been talk of the Heat a lot more recently, and I don't blame him - the Miami lifestyle must be fun as a pro athlete.

add another 1st and 2nd to OKCs pile lol

https://twitter.com/user/status/1329190821493661702

at some point, there's no need to invite other teams than the Thunder and Pelicans to the draft anymore, they can do the whole thing by themselves!

and oh, that whole Horford experiment in Philly went reaaally well.

What a tidy piece of work by OKC turning Paul George, Chris Paul, Abdel Nader and Dennis Shroder into:

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Danilo Galinari
Kelly Oubre Jr
Ricky Rubio
Ty Jerome
Jalen Lecque
Al Horford
7 firsts (plus 2 from the Westbrook for Paul trade)
Plus a multitude of swaps.

SGA and Oubre are two very good young pieces.

I wonder if they flip Horford for even more picks!!

I bet he'll turn it around for OKC this season and then Presti will flip him for picks next summer. Feels almost inevitable at this point.

Sounds like Klay suffered a serious leg injury. NBA desperately needed the Splash Brothers back for fan interest so this is both bad for the Warriors and the league as a whole. Throws a wrench into the draft tonight too with what the Warriors will do.

Oh, I'm really excited because I have a feeling that this draft will be deals galore.

That is crappy news about Klay. The NBA is better with Klay healthy and playing in GS.

Totally agree. I don't think Lonzo, Lemelo etc are bad kids really either, Lavar Ball is just so unlikeable.

I don't have any evidence that they're bad kids, but when your dad is an idiot, you can guess the apple doesn't fall far from that tree. Additioanlly when the third son was arrested in China for BS, shows how bad a parent he was - despite being well off his son had to steal. Pretty dumb.

Wow. I haven't seen a game featuring Rubio in a few years. Without looking at his numbers is he really worth that high a pick? Just a few years ago he was seen as a bust. And OKC, another 1st rounder. Gotta be dealing some of that at some point in the coming years.

I saw a number of Suns games with Rubio playing, he can still distribute the ball well, not a terrific long range shooter though which in todays NBA limits his effectiveness, but he's still a pretty serviceable point guard.

It's also not a straight flip, OKC is trading 25 and 28 as well. Seems about right, might slight overpay to dump Rubio for OKC.
