I guess it depends on what you see out of eggs and in your usual area. I haven't seen a Scyther, and wouldn't be upset getting one from an egg. I very rarely see Eevee, and use them for evolves, so wouldn't mind seeing that.
But what do I usually see out of eggs? Rattata's and Drowzee...which I can catch multiples of walking the 100m to mailbox. >.<

One question about a lot of the IV sites and whatnot. They mention Pokemon level, I'm sure that's based on some degree on trainer level (only finding Pokemon as highly leveled as you are, at best).
Is there some way of raising that level? Meaning a perfect IV 500 CP Pokemon I found at lv15 could be carried over into the end game.

Your pokemon gains levels when you power them up. The levels corresponds with the amount of candy and stardust required for each power up. You can carry the same perfect IV pokemon through all the levels, but as you go higher the cost increases.

Jumped in on this yesterday, Team Mystic, level 11, Pokedex is 46 caught, 47 seen.
Currently have 59 pokemon with the top 5 being:
1. 523 CP Tentracruel
2. 460 CP Hypno
3. 421 CP Pidgeot
4. 387 CP Golbat
5. 377 CP Seaking
I hate Drowzees and bats after 24 hours of this game. Also, Victoria doesn't seem to have a Pikachu site after the update. So that's lame. It's the only Pokemon I've ever known before a day and a half ago. Wait, I lied, Mewtwo as well, as thats is the most OP of them all I think.

Something weird just happened. I was downtown (Trail) and a Dragonite popped up. I yelled it out to warm my buddies and everyone else checked their phones. I was literally the only person to get it. It didn't spawn for a single other person in the area.

Any chance you're a much higher level than them? One time I took my friend's phone out to hit a couple pokéstops and she was a low level because of just starting the game, and I noticed several more pokémon pop up on my screen than hers.

You're in the Pokemon shangri-la! I have Pokemon-ed almost everywhere in BC and Alberta and found the Kootenays the best place. Also pokemon-ed in and around Montreal this summer while on vacation. Anyway, check out Grand Forks if you have a chance - tons of rares from my experience.
Haha - it's fun pulling out your phone in different places to see what's around.

GF seems to be a hotbed for fire and ground Pokemon. Lots of Growlithe and Ponyta. Quite a few Rhyhorn and Diglet as well.
I was also wondering if I got the Dragonite at the end of it's spawn...

Can someone explain this to me? I had a 2500 stardust required to power up Caterpie, which I evolved. It turned into a Metapod, 2500 to power up, CP 188.
However I already have a Metapod, 194 CP, that appraises better, that only takes 1900 to power up.

The 2,500 stardust Caterpie has poorer IVs compared to the Metapod that requires 1,900. Essentially the Metapod has more baseline potential than the higher CP Caterpie. Evolutions are different than Pokemon levels, you can hypothetically have a level 40 Caterpie and a level 5 Butterfree, despite one being an evolved form of the other.

Lapras pops yesterday near me and I was hanging out with a friend while she was working so I took both phones to get him. Long story short, she got it, I didn't as it Ghosted after the first hit.
But them Drowzees keep getting beefier.
