I think it's an darn good album from Metallica. They get back to their roots a bit but put it over some of the, I don't know, bluesy swagger maybe, they developed since Justice.
I like it. A couple of filler songs for sure but a couple of tremendous ones as well. I think it's a solid 4 to 4.3 out of 5. It's not a 5 but it's darn good.
I have the deluxe edition and the Rasputin concert is fun.
Went to see Dream Theater in Tulsa a few weeks ago. Not everyone's cup of tea I know and given they were performing their rock opera "The Astonishing" from start to end I was skeptical. It isn't my favourite album to say the least. It was simply one of the best concerts I've ever attended. They did a darn fine job with the graphic novel-esque videos running behind the band advancing the plot etc. LaBrie sounded better than I've ever heard him including his recorded work to be honest. Very, very good show. I personally prefer them live without Portnoy as Magini isn't always looking to hog the attention like Portnoy. It has especially allowed Myung to step up front a bit more (it's subtle as he's not the most outgoing player but it's a change).

I'd give it a 4 too. I don't even find the length of the songs a problem until it gets to Am I Savage? and Murder One but Spit Out The Bone makes up for it.
The reception it's getting from the general public seems to be pretty positive too. I've heard alot of "I stopped listening after Load but I love this" comments.
thanks a lot, now I'm hooked. That's what I love about the internet though. An Austrian discovers a Mongolian folk rock/metal band because of a recommendation on a Canadian hockey board. What a time to be alive
so after releasing and album an touring with Puscifer in 2015 and 2016, Maynard James Keenan is now going on tour with A Perfect Circle in 2017 and there might even be a new album too. I'm starting to think there's no new Tool album coming at all and fans are just being trolled.
The good news is that A Perfect Circle is brilliant too.
The anniversary just passed a couple days ago, but it's been 15 years since we lost Chuck which is kinda hard to believe how fast time flies. But Chuck did leave us some mighty fine material to enjoy even with him gone. #### cancer

From arguably the best Canadian metal album ever. Didn't take me like 10 listens like everyone else (maybe 5), but yeah this album is as difficult and challenging as metal gets. But it's got a pig head on the cover so can't go wrong with that.

So, I just discovered that Gojira will be on the Metallica tour.
They are one of my favourites, but they are playing BC Place, and tickets start at $105 for the upper section located about 7 kms from the stage. I don't like Metallica enough to shell out for the privilege to see Gojira live from another neighbourhood. Ugh.
