Being stuck in winter traffic is the worst part of snowfalls. So much time lost...

When I fell asleep it was still summer out, when I woke up only a few hours later, BLIZZARD!

I was supposed to take my car to get winter tires on it Tuesday morning, unfortunately I will have to re-schedule, there's no way I'd make it. I can't believe it got that bad, that fast...FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

OK, so 1 quick drive later, 2 conclusions:

a) my winters cannot get here soon enough
b) it's gonna be a g'damn massacre tomorrow. I bump my estimate to 300.

I assume Deerfoot will be chaos tomorrow.
Stick to Stoney.

Last winter, Carmacks maintained it through the county of Rocky View. They do a much better job than the city does. I'm assuming it is still the same situation.

I just wanted to say after half a gas tank, it's great out there!

Most roads are slushy still, but quickly turning to ice underneath. With winters there's still a decent amount of grip, but all seasons or peeps with worn tires are going to have a crappy day tomorrow.

Please people... don't use your hazards if you are still driving among traffic!

I remember that Snow Day. That was crazy, snow to the top of the door of the school.

Going to suck tomorrow. I have a class at ruddy 8am tomorrow. Sucks because I have to take Deerfoot from Beddington all the way to Glenmore. Planning on leaving at 6:15 just in case. I'd rather get there 30 minutes early than 2 hours late.

I'm at work. Roads are slow going. People are leaving early. Glenmore is plowed, but there is still snow and ice on it. Average speed was about 80km/h. Once you get off the main roads you will find lots of snow to have fun in.

If you need to leave for work still, leave early, the roads will be packed.

If you are sticking with all-season tires, go with the nokian sg2. They are the only winter rated all-season as far as I know and do have pretty decent traction on snow and ice.

It wasn't too bad for me this morning. Tuscany to Glamorgan was relatively free-flowing, with the exception of actually getting out of Tuscany. Of course, there are still the strugglers who refuse to adapt their car or their driving for winter, but generally speaking it was a little better than expected.

Snow blowin and pretty icy conditions east of the city from Chestermere to Calgary. Was slow moving but didnt have to stop once, so it was pretty stress free for me.
