If I was a father I would have the same kind of trouble. But I don't think that your ever going to stop prostitution.
At least if they legalize it they can protect the girls that fall into the trade, provide them with testing and know where they are.
I think that there are probably way too many girls that fall off of the grid and just go missing and its never reported.
Anything that would get the pimps and drug dealers away from this girl, maybe take some tax revenue and put it towards programs to get the girls out of the business, and protect them from predatory clinets would be a positive first step.
It would then allow the cops to have a greater focusing on the sex trafficing and underaged hooker problems out there.

agreed, on paper it is a good idea to make it legal, as i mentioned the hicup is when i think about my daughter in that line of work......guess if they are going to do it may as well make the working env't as safe as possible.

I don't know what the stats are for girls falling into prostitution, but I would think that a majority of them come in from train wreck situations, or really low income no skill situations where this is the fastest or best way to earn money for them or support a habit.
The ones who are supporting a habit might at least get help and find a way to at least get away from the business.
The ones who are low skill without opportunities might at least get some help or access to training.
I watched a documentary on CBC (yes I watched CBC!) about prostitution around the world and there is a percentage of woman that is fairly small that enjoy the easy money and the job itself and legalizing it would help bring them into a protected environment.
Even though I make jokes about stuff like this, I have my doubts that a girl that's raised in a good family enviornment and given educational opportunities is going to end up as a prostitute unless something goes really wrong.
But all we're doing with illegal prostitution is driving it underground and making it far more dangerous on the girls then it should be.
Plus if we set up a brothel by the Peace Bridge we'd have that sum b1tch paid off in no time.

For the fathers out there, why are you worried about your daughter entering into this industry if legalized?
Are you equally worried they'd become a stripper?

Frankly, If your daughter ends up as a Hooker (even a legal one) then I think you probably ####ed up pretty bad somewhere along the line.
More to the point, I think anyone desperate enough to explore legal prostitution is probably desperate to explore illegal prostitution... that being the case wouldn't you want her to have some enhanced legal protection from exploitation/violence that a fully legalized industry would provide?

Can you at least allude to it in very general non descript euphamisms and innuendo for us?
