You think? he's a young offender. It's Canada's get of jail free card for under 18 year olds.
Yeah, its disturbing, especially after the young offender who sodomized and raped a girl that he was babysitting while she was between the ages of 3-5 and only got a 100 days.
There's just something wrong with the system.

12 and 16 isn't THAT young guys. Stuff not far from this happened at my Jr. High School. Then again, it was A.E. Cross.
Forget that. Remember when this went down at Scarlett?

Dax Bruce Earl Andrews, 36, pleaded guilty in provincial court on Friday to sexual exploitation of the girl, who was 15 years old when the five-month relationship began in October 2004.
pfft it was no surprise to see Scarletts name mentioned. When I was there it was almost treated like a brothel by some of the male teachers and councillers.
For all the unprofessional reations between teachers and students that we read about in the papers, I wonder just how many there are that no one knows about because both parties never say a word.

He volunteered at a homeless shelter that my mom was running. There was no word from his parole officer or the police as to his previous offences, even when he volunteered to assist with programs that helped pubescent girls.
My mom always thought something was suspicious about him, so she called someone she knew in Calgary Police who pulled his file. Needless to say, she got him out of the program ASAP, but what was so amazing was that there was absolutely no warning from the authorities.

The guy I posted about was also a director for the Stampede Showband and he was definately pulling tricks there too. But then at least the girls were of the age of consent up to 22. But even still, what a complete and total tool. He wasn't even that great of a music teacher as he relied solely on charisma and being the 'cool' teacher. If you didn't respond to that style, he'd try to run you out of the program.
IIRC there was a relationship between a teacher and a student (Gr. 12) at my HS when I was in grade 11. From my understanding they actually went on to become married.
Obviously the age gap isn't as bad in this case. I would think the gap was less than 10 years, and she was definitely of age to consent. However it still seems a bit of an abuse of teacher/student trust.

It's criminal due to the position of authority with respect to the student. Let me tell you kids a story about a teacher... this is true, as it was related to me by the teacher's friend/criminal lawyer. This did not happen here, but in .... a neighbouring province.
Grade 12 camping trip. Overnight. The teacher wakes up at 6 am to one of his (female) students swallowing his pole. He is half-asleep, and blows his load. He was convicted of sexual assault and lost his career because he "did not immediately stop her"... I ask you, fellow males, how many of you would be able to "immediately stop her" in that situation?

Well since the first thing that most guys need to do in the morning when they wake up is take a pee, that could be categorized as a really bad idea by the girl.

I went to high school with Dax Andrews, at EP Scarlett....he was a messed up individual. Everyone thought he was gay, so I was surprised when this story rolled out.

Her friends are so jealous You know how bad girls get Sometimes it's not so easy To be the teachers pet Temptation, frustration So bad it makes him cry Wet bus stop, she's waiting His car is warm and dry
If you look at sites like smokinggun, teacher student affairs seem common-place, and more and more, we are seeing female teachers being arrested.
MORE than one teacher a week in western Australia is investigated for sexual assault or grooming students for sex. For the first time, the Education Department has released shocking statistics that show an alarming spike in sexual misconduct complaints against teachers.
It was a major problem at my law school. The students were adults, but the Dean was concerned enough to insist profs keep their door open at all times.

Sounds fishy to me. Why was he in a tent with a student?

He has (had?) a wife and they had at least one child together. Dax was definately not gay. He was a broken hearted little boy who never wanted to grow up ending up trapped in a middle-aged man's body.
