(A) Even if I were to believe that plants were capable of suffering pain akin to that which animals do, for which there is absolutely no scientific basis, by eating animals you require double the amount of "suffering" since you need MORE feed for the animals.
(B) I take it by your post that you have no qualms whatsoever with the girl that drowned the little puppies? Humans are at the top of the food chain and thus can do whatever they want to animals without concern for the well being of the animals?

On part A I was making fun, but its the circle of life, eventually everything gets eaten, even humans.
On the second part, What does her actions have to do with the food chain, did she drown the puppies then eat them. Or was it a sadistic excercise with no benefits?

McDonalds hasn't used beef tallow for cooking their fries for twenty years in North America.

Someone named Shiavo is running for office around here. (Ooops)
Seeing those signs brought back memories of that whole thing. Yikes.

I actually suspected that was the case, but had not heard anything definitive on it, so thanks for letting me know.
Point still stands though, beef products are used for a lot more than just food.

They made the switch when I was a wee lad working for the golden arches in 1990.
