Watching the Spurs/Twente game and casually viewing the Uts/Valencia match.

The Spurs game has been entertaining, some poor defending from Spurs so far, requiring Gomes to be good.

Put Cudicini back in net and this game is 2-0 Twente. Big difference Gomes makes.

Stopped watching the Utd game. Boring.

the valencia-utd was one of the worst first halfs you'll ever see.
I could have been the keeper!

outside of the missed penalty Van der Vaart has been fantastic

I think he either sets one up or gets it himself in the 2nd half

Hes had a great game, 2 amazing strikes, but its just not quite coming off for him.

Once again the mighty Barca fail to defeat Rubin Kazan.

In unrelated news, Van der Vaart has scored, 1-0 Spurs.

Wow, what a game, 3 penalties for Spurs.

This third penalty though was a bad call. It hits his arm, no question, but look, the arm is tucked in against the body. Not a handball.

Even if they win this though, no more VDV against Inter. He's suspended for the Champions League now.

ya I think what hurt the Twente player was his arm lifted up after the ball hit him, either way it made up for the terrible 2nd yellow for VDV

Uh...that second yellow was textbook. How was that bad? No contact or even attempt at the ball by VDV and he basically just bodychecked a player that was already in the air into the boards.

That was an intent to injure play. Textbook yellow. Hell, it might even have been a somewhat harsh red, but the yellow had to be shown.

its the kind of thing that should be called for a first yellow, but not a 2nd

and I know there should be no difference, but there is by every ref, they usually let that go if a player is on a yellow and isn't a known dirty player

Alright, well, this ref disagrees and in general play thats a fairly straightforward call.

Conversely no bookings yet in United/Valencia even though there has been some pretty dirty stuff. Oh officiating consistency.

also the ref in the spurs game gave Huddlestone nothing for a clear elbow to the head in the 1st half, so ya his inconsistency has been evident

United just scored

AC Milan is playing strangely, starting their second choice keeper after their first choice keeper proved fit last week, Robinho on the bench. Unusual.

Real Madrid is playing the usual suspects.

Bayern is playing a 70/30 squad with players like Ottl, Tymoschuk, Pranjic and Gomez getting starts. Gomez earned it with a hattrick this weekend.

Chelsea made short work of Spartak.

Wish I got the AC Milan vs. Real Madrid game. Instead stuck watching the Arsenal game.
