Wow.. super excited, didn't even know this was coming out until I saw this thread.

Has anyone played Civilization Revolution on PS3?
It's quite different in the way things are done, way more action oriented and objective driven. I spent way too much time on that game.

Played it on Xbox 360. Unlocked all achievements. Found it sorely lacking compared to even the earliest Civ game.

By unlocking all achievements you mean beating the game on Deity, with each race, by each victory condition?

Doesn't seem human...

If you like more in-depth approach, then yea I see what you're saying.
But like I said, I found it to be way more action packed and you really have to be a step ahead of other races to stay ahead.

Er ... well, yes, it is difficult to stay ahead of the other races if you are a step behind them.

I love CivRev because it streamlines the game play and you can bust out a game in a few hours rather than a weekend.

Its not a replacement for generic civ but I found it to be very fun.

^ Agreed CivRev on my Ipad is awesome. Easy to play and there are multiple scenarios and ways to beat the game. I think this will have to be my civilization fix for the next while.

Free CivRev app for iphone. Never played this game so don't know how good it is, but the price is right.

I loaded up Civ4 to play it for a bit to whet the appetite. Looking forward to it.

I read that roads require upkeep, so no more filling every square with roads.

I'm debating on whether I should buy this or not. Not for the fact that i'm not sure if i'll like it...i'm sure I will. I've played every Civ game. I just afraid this game will take over my life. And as it is, I really don't have any spare time to devote to the game at the moment. I'm torn. I want to conquer the world!!

Where'd you preorder it from?

I cant decide between Steam Deluxe version or Direct2Drive Deluxe version... With D2D, you get the first DLC for free once it comes out, but you get the map pack with Steam.

Edit: I see above; you bought it from Steam obviously.

Yeah got it from Steam, since I already have that installed and have other games through that.

Enter the Promo Code of SANDIEGO at Direct2Drive to save $10 on your Civ 5 purchase. It is valid for September 14th only.

The price of $49.95 for the Standard version rounds up to $50 so you still get $10 off. I used the code towards the purchase of the Digital Deluxe version, however.

Does this game have a lot of syustem requirements. My PC is about 2 years old. Was pretty high-end at the time, but I don't use it for gaming.

They are fairly hefty for a turn-based strategy games. The recommended requirements are higher than most think they should be. But, you'll be able to limp along with an older system that meets the minimum requirements.

If anyone is interested 2K games had a live stream of some developers playing the game and answering questions.

You can watch a replay of that here.
