These protesters need more night stick and pepper spray therapy.

While in a democratic society you have a right to peaceful protest, you don't have the right to property damage or violence.

If it was 20 below they could deploy a water canon and make protester statues.

From everything I've heard the buzz in Vancouver is outstanding, with only a few peaceful protests around the city(not including the foreign protest yesterday). People are clearly blowing things out of proportion when we should be enjoying the Olympics being hosted on our own turf.
The buzz here has been outstanding. People having fun throughout the city, Canada jerseys everywhere. I personally haven't even seen any protesting where I have been going. Any big even like this will draw its share of morons. Even the Stampede brings some protesting to it (PETA, etc).

But the small minded will continue to display their hate for Vancouver just because they want to. Saying Vancouver is full of left wing rioting hippies is as true as saying Calgary is full of racist redneck cowboys. Just overly simplistic and weak stereotypes.

Don't any of you guys who are blaming "Vancouver prostesters" for this realize what was really going on. A bunch of thuggish anarchists mixed in the crowd of protesters were determined to vandalize property. CTV News reported that most of the anarchist cowards were from outside of Vancouver.

If you are too lazy to read the thread Vic, why are you even bothering posting? Plenty of people have noted the element of people who are out just to break stuff, and where they are from.

I bet half the people in this thread doesn't know why they are doing what they are doing and they just want to bash Vancouver canucks fans (Hell, the protesters are probably not even watching hockey). People protest for different reasons. Some people protest due to the fact there are over 15500 homeless in the Vancouver area and that they turned several houses for people with low income into 300 000$ houses. Some anarchists protest due to the fact that Olympic is a symbol of capitalism where only the richest countries in the world compete for competition, competitions that can only be attended by rich people due to the high cost of the tickets. These protesters are all upset about the fact the city rather put money to have the Olympic game rather than improving the condition of the lower class, poor people and homeless.

I am not talking about the people who are acknowledging the anarchist activity. But there are posters on here who like to claim that its Vancouver protesters who are violent.

Nice, the mod card. The official bowing out of a lost argument on the Internet.

Bowing out of nothing..I just wont let him, you or anyone else not in a position to do so, tell me what/where/when to say what i feel is appropriate, but apparently you cant handle that either.

I still love that you compared terrorism in New York City to Vancouver's protests. Just awesome.
Sure...except I didn't, and if you are unable/unwilling to understand that, I cannot help you with it.

Vancouver is basically divided into 2 sections. East Vancouver, which consists of lower income commie ndp supporters and the wealthy west side and west w
end liberal/conservative supporters. Personally I would like those protestors to be clubbed tasered and shot with rubber bullets.

It also came out that lots of the thugs that were arrested actually came up from Washington state.

The initial protest during the Opening Ceremonies was effective, simply because of the number of people (I heard as much as 2500) and the lack of incident. Whether or not you agree with the protest is moot. We live in Canada, and you have the freedom to do these things here. If you don't like it, in the immortal words of the great Barney Gumble, "Go back to Russia!"

The three dozen or so morons the next day cancelled out whatever goodwill the previous night's protesters generated. They will all be unfairly painted with the same brush because of this.
