18-0 win today for me in the National Cup. So my team does still know how to play.

Only lost 5-3, not nearly as bad as I had feared but his tactics were bad. Ah well, should be better for next year!

Hehe, actually 5-0 isn't all that bad; I saw some 20-0 wins for the top ranked teams.
Lost 6-1 to the top ranked team today, pretty much expected and luckily I'm still in 7th. I'm kinda wondering if its a good idea to play on Normal against teams competing for the playoffs, even though it's still early in the season..we only play each team twice.

I've been thinking this too. Low for the bottom feeders, normal for the top 8.

One of my newest pickups has a shooting% of 100! haha

Another close one between the Smokies and the Flamez, with the Flamez coming out on top 2-1.

Gonna try Normal/Forechecking vs the undefeated DesTROYers next.

Yeah another good close game, with pretty good turn out (and profit). I saw you've developed your arena a bit more than me, so we should play at your barn for friendlies (since we split the revenue for friendlies).

Good luck against the DesTROYers, you're team is better than mine on paper...I think you have a shot on Normal and tactics as he usually plays on low!

HUGE win for Chalms' Smokies, as the upset the undefeated Montreal DesTROYers 3-1. Smokies goalie stands on his head making 34 saves. Smokies stay in 6th, and with the 2nd place Sliders going inactive there should be plenty of opportunity to move up.
In other news, the Flamez win 6-3 to stay in 7th spot, opening a bit of a gap between them and 8th. After a tough stretch of games, the Flamez get a bit of a break with league games next week against two no-names and an inactive.

I guess going Normal worked well!

Yeah, I wonder if he'll change his tactics at all? Weird that he only rolled three lines all game.

My PP made him pay for his only two mistakes. And my goalie bailed me out as usual. Rihards Puriņš honoured with the second star, daily all-star, season all-star, and tops in save %. I'll be able to rest him too next week versus one mid-range team and two no-names.

So J kendal, you're playing a lot of your games on low priority now?

I've got a pretty good stretch coming up of games vs. no names / bottom feeders. I'm going to try to play on low priority for the rest of the month.

Ya I've played every game on low so far this season, I'm struggling hard right now but I'll be able to play normal/high later on in the season and then will be able to get a bunch of wins against tired teams. Last year I played every game on low until playoffs, and it really paid off for me.

Yes! won my National Cup game today 3-2 in a shootout on the road, at least my team can win something this season, I played normal today just because I was was too tired of losing everything this season in hockey.

Yup! First time making it to round 4, hopefully I draw someone I can compete against. The team I beat today (rebelles) had an average overall rating of over 100 more than me (367.8 to 262.9), and it's not going to get any easier the further this tournament goes alone.

Just how is the overall rating calculated anyhow?

That's a good question. All I know is that it seems to build as you win more games...I would have thought that your team strength (stars) would more dictate which team is better?

Well ya overall team rating is calculated by team wins, so the higher it is the better your team probably is. Team strength is the best indicator of if you team has a chance, because it calculates how well each of your lines perform. What I just posted though was average overall rating, what the average overall rating of all the players is. Like you have one player with 200 OR, another with 204 and one with 202 the average overall rating is 202. It's the least accurate to show which team is better, but it still shows that one team has a whole lot more skill than another, it just may not be distributed properly.
