I thought Dollhouse season 2 was much better, they focused on the main story rather than on silly Echo's missions.
As for V, it's nothing earthshattering but watchable as you fall asleep. Visual "effects" of the mother ship interior are so laughably bad, you gotta wonder if they did it on purpose. Acting is mostly terrible (either wooden or completely over the top) but it's got Laura Vandervoort so it's all good. However, as uberhot as she is, she's got almost 0 "sexual charisma" ... just a pretty two dimensional picture, no radiance...if that makes sense. Probably doesn't.
I miss Lost.

Except I outright hated the lazy writing in Lost over the last two seasons to be honest.
I remember the creators and writers emphasizing that they weren't dead and it wasn't pergatory time after time after people guessed at it in the first season.
and then bang they were dead and in pergatory.
It was almost like they got overwhelmed by their own Island rule book.
I would have to say that in terms of let downs in television Lost was one of the biggest let downs for me.
Lost started so well, and it hooked me right from the point where the guy got sucked into the jet engine. But they entirely messed up with Walt, and the Locke thing was just dumb.

Do you actually like the characters? The writers try to write them flawed but they fail miserably. Their flaw is that they are stupid or one dimensional.
It's written so anything can happen yet it is as predictable as the weather in the Mojave Desert.
Watch a few Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip episodes (Unfortunately Canceled) then switch back to this drivel. You'll soon understand what is crap and what is not crap.

You're the kind of person that goes to an action movie and walks out saying "that sucked! No plot, no character story" aren't you?
It's a 1 hour (45 mins if you subtract the time for commercials) that, for the most part, keeps people entertained and wondering "what will happen on the next show?" If they can accomplish this, then mission completed.
If you say the show is predictable, then good on you. I don't think most people watch shows trying to pick them apart.
I honestly didn't see a lot of the twists and turns coming. Certain things are obvious. Would they really kill off Anna already? No. But Tyler? I'd be lying if I said I didn't see his death coming...but when it did, I was still shocked.
It's a fun show. I certainly hope there's a 3rd season. If all you do is sit there picking it apart and complain about how it's not multi-dimensional, then watch something else. I don't see the fun in watching a show, only to pick it apart.

Damn. So Anna won. Damn Visitors. Would have liked to have seen a proper wrap-up of the story.

Friday the 13th turned out to be doomsday for Brothers & Sisters and V: ABC has axed both shows. The Alphabet net also pulled the plug on rookie series No Ordinary Family, Off the Map, Better With You, Detroit 187 and Mr. Sunshine.

I had high hopes for ordinary family and Mr Sunshine which I thought was very funny.
It was too bad about V, they finally seemed to get it towards the end of their run, and yes, it looks like Anna completely kicked ass.

A show I watched that I'm glad got cancelled. V was just terrible this last season and if it wasn't cancelled I'd probably go on watching just to see the story wrapped up. The one moment of pleasure from the last season was seeing the pretty boy get killed by the V.

I'm kind of glad V is over also. I watched it every week and then wondered why, each week.

LOL - I'm an editor and I demand more than this V crap. I watch this stuff when I'm bored.
You are correct, if a show has a terrible plot or horrible character build, or is predictable I tend to pick it apart. There are real good action movies out there, but a lot of terrible ones. Also jump cuts. I love finding them, but only because I work hard myself when I edit and I try not to make them.
In writing you try to think about conflict. Conflict in every relationship; protagonist to protagonist or protagonist to antagonist and antagonist to antagonist. The more conflict you create will usually make for an entertaining story, but you also can't make it look to obvious. It's a fine balance.

V was a terrible, yet entertaining show.
I hope Laura Vandervoort finds another role very soon.....

I DVR all the episodes of series I might like to watch. When they manage to get past season 2 and into season 3 without being cancelled I catch up. I guess I get to kill off V.
