Anyone here have anything to say about the Ford Escape's 4wd? I will likely be getting a new smaller SUV in the next year and I really like Fords. I have a 4x4 Explorer right now, and I rarely if ever use the 4 low. Maybe when I go camping.

I own a 05 Ford Escape and I find the AWD system works great in the winter. Have had no problems getting around High River the past few days. It's a lot better that the Ford Explorer I used to own.

I also have a 2005 Escape and it was awesome getting around today. Still looks like a war zone in many places out there.

We're shopping for a new vehicle, so yesterday ended up being a good day to do some test driving.

Bah, my car is low to begin with and I lowered it further. All you have to do is plan to have enough speed when you hit the big drifts to make it through. (AWD not FWD for me though).

I feel like I should be billing the city with all of the roads my car has been plowing for them

My skid plate is going to be a mess, especially when this starts melting/freezing, that's for sure.

What are you going with? Please tell me you tried the Escape, and maybe even a...Ranger? Lol...

But seriously, Ford Escape is where its at right now. Especially seeing as the ones on the lot right now were being built by workers in an industry fighting tooth and nail to keep their job. I would wager the quality is well above average, and in most cases outstanding.
