Yeah he was one of my favorite characters. I've enjoyed his work in the past, such as Band of Brothers and The Black Donnellys. But, at least he isn't gone entirely. It's just clear he's not "Francis" anymore.

Did anyone else think that while Family Guy was actually really good, the Cleveland Show was absolutely terrible?

Yeah, it wasn't that great and I wasn't expecting much either. He has 3 shows now, and there's not a lot that's different about them. All 3 have a talking animal At least with Futurama, Groening has a whole new set of rules and storylines.

And on the topic of Family Guy, pretty good opener with Stewie and Brian. I busted my gut laughing at the Robot Chicken bit. I just love how they bring it up every once in a while with Stewie and Chris.

I don't even know why I bothered giving the Simpsons a chance last night. Seldom-used character is explored a bit, random coincidence makes the story center on Homer, who loses weight and then gains it back. Pop-culture reference doh-jour used (Entourage). It's gone from being unfunny to somewhat pathetic and sad.
Cleveland Show sucked, Family Guy was solid.

Mrs. Cowperson and I thought the premiere of "The Good Wife" gave promise for a very good drama. Good show. We'll be back.

Modern Family was pretty funny . . . . . especially the part about shooting the fat kid as a parental retalitory disciplinary measure. The gay guys are hilarious.

Flash Forward was boring me in the first half hour and there is a certain incredulity to these particular guys being put in charge of figuring out what's happening to the entire world . . . . . but the last half hour began to hook me. This could either be a hit or explode badly. Hard to say.

The season premiere of Flashpoint was an emotional wringer and I continue to like that one of the top rated shows airing in the USA is unabashedly Canadian in lingo, locations and uniforms.

Season premiere of Criminal Minds was lame, lame, lame . . . . a once good show going off the radar.

I've been following Defying Gravity which has its high and low points. There's a mystery there that I will want to see resolved.

The premiere coming up I'm going to catch is Stargate Universe. I have to admit to being a Sci-Fi fan who's never watched a Stargate episode in any other form so I have only a vague understanding of the premise. However, the visuals I've seen of Universe seem to suggest a certain "Battlestar" grittiness and bleakness that will at least get me into the door this coming Friday. The scenes I've seen promoting the show do like like a Battlestar knockoff, which would be a good thing.

Cowperson

I watched it on CTV online last night

Captain Crunch is probably more qualified to speak about this but < Anti-tank mines are generally not designed to be set off by a person (need weight or ferro sensor) nor are they that small>

Trauma was absolutely horrible. The only thing redeeming about it was that girl who was on Damages, I guess she would have been the lead actress.

Answer in white

Unless you weigh between 4 and 700 pounds an anti-tank won't go off, for the most part they are all pressure plate designs because they're cheaper to make and easier to maintain.

Some of the newer ones are set off by seismic readings of a tank passing over top of the mine where pressure isn't applied.

I don't think I've heard of too many that are detonated due to a ferro sensor, espcially since many of the new tanks use non metallic armour like advanced ceramics.

metallic sensing is used heavily in ocean mines though.

I'm kinda hooked on Mercy after the most show, I mean how can you not love a damaged former war veteran fairly hot nurse with a major drinking problem.

Plus that chick from Buffy is in it.

NCIS:LA has been pretty mediocre this far. I hate how they brought in that annoying short chick when it was supposed to be the hot blonde who used to be on CSI leading the team.

The Dollhouse premiere (last Friday) was very good.

There were a lot of references to last season, so I'm not sure how easy it would have been for new viewers to pick it up.

And for you BSG fans, you could have seen Apollo in a good fight with Helo.

More for SF fans - Stargate Universe starts on Friday, and the "re-imagined" V on Nov. 3. I think the Stargate franchise is just a shadow of what it used to be, but I'll give the new show a shot. V could either go the Battlestar Galactica route or end up complete garbage (like the 2nd miniseries and TV series), but apparently it's been getting pretty good advance reviews.

Apparently NBC has cancelled Southland, and it will not air this year. Word is, they said it was too dark for network television. There goes one of like four shows I was gonna watch this year.

...wasn't Southland the show that they cancelled Life in favour of? That's gotta be frustrating.

I don't remember the exact reason Life was cancelled, but I thought Southland was a pretty good show. I think some people think Jay Leno is sucking the life out of NBC right now.

Damn it. That was probably my favourite show from last year.
