Wow. You actually nailed it. That wasn't even a recent prediction! If you would have told me this would happen 5 minutes before the vote last night I probably would have laughed in your face (and maybe called you a name).
I can't believe the vote went that way. Russell was practically perfect. He orchestrated nearly every single big move in the game, and what's more the other two voted exactly the same as him in each vote. I don't understand how somebody can say Natalie played the game better when she made the exact same moves. Emotions got the best of the jury as they usually do, but this seemed extreme. Even Jaison seemed annoyed with Mick about getting voted out, even though he tried to vote him out the same night. I love this show but man they find some tools.
Some comments on the Heros vs. Villains article posted above (whited out for spoilers):
How is coach a villain? Perhaps if they were doing "Survivor: Crazy" I could see it. Wasn't his whole schtick to be some sort of honourable player? Sure he wasn't, but it still seems like an odd fit.
I'm not sure how the Villains will be able to function. Hell, it's exactly like comic books, no villains work together well. That tribe is half comprised of whiny grumps while the hero tribe is pretty much a bunch of really nice people that work very hard. Even in an all-start setting one tribe seems strongly outmatched.
I'll echo the article ... Sandra is a villain? Wasn't she a really nice mom?
God Sugar and Parvati are hot.

If that rumored list is true. I'm happy about some of them, but pissed about a couple. Sandra as one of the vilains?? Are you kidding me?? And how exactly is Parvati considered a villain?? I just thought she was a hottie, and I liked her. Kelly from Borneo would have been a better villain. She was a bitch. Hell, Eliza would have been better than Sandra or Parvati.
I wouldn't have minded seeing Bobby John again, or Ozzy, those guys were awesome. happy to see Tom back, and JT will be cool to watch again. I never like Rupert and quite frankly, I'm sick of him. Same with Colby to a certain extent.
But I'm thrilled that my favorite player, Stephanie will be back. She's smokin hot and she can play the game as well. Double threat.
Go Stephanie!!

Rupert lost all credibility when he tried to build a log cabin ... under the sand ... during low tide.

Yeah, I'm not an outdoors guy by any means, but even I knew that while he was doing that, it was a horrible idea.

Do we really need to see James again? I guess this is the best they could come up with when you consider who would actually want to return to do another season the show.

Ya that list for Heroes and Villians, which I had seen somewhere else and I think is pretty much confirmed looks solid
there are a couple who I have no desire to see again, Amanda? for a third time? did she deserve a second? and Rupert is just annoying and yells stupid stuff
But the Villians tribe with Russel (who has a huge advantage as no one will have seen this season as they filmed this last season and Heroes vs Villains back to back) Boston Rob, Randy, Tyson, Parvati should be amazing
And I think Parvati is a villain because of the way she took out Ozzy and James during the fans vs favorites. And she kind of relishes that role as the mastermind. I would love to see her and Russel team up.

For Heroes vs. Villains, my early prediction is someone is going to win by going completely against what they've been typecast in. Most likely a Hero is going to be deceiving and end up taking the whole thing, similar to Stephanie going from "America's Sweetheart" in Palau to "playing the game" in Guatemala, even though she finished 2nd. I'd really like to see Tom or JT turn "bad" just because they rolled through their seasons in similar good guy, dominating fashions. I don't know who's going to align with each other on the "Heroes" side. Rupert and James are wildcards. JT, Tom and Colby are extremely similar and who really knows about any of the girls.
I agree that Russell has a huge advantage for this season. If he aligns himself correctly he could "cause chaos". Boston Rob and Parvati will align, Tyson and Coach are already aligned, Jerry, Randy and Courtney are going to be miserable in a group, which leaves Russell, Danielle and Sandra to hook up with different people or each other.
What really made All-stars so entertaining was how everyone took all the moves personally. It skewed the results but it was still good TV. I'm hoping that these people play the game hard but still realize it's just a game after it's all said and done.

Should Russell really be a "villian" though? He is hugely popular.

I hate that Tyson prick.
I'd actually consider not watching while he was still around. Last time whenever he spoke, our TV went to mute because I hated him so much.
Coach, I hated, but he was entertaining.
Tyson made me want to change the channel

That's funny ... he's easily in my top 5 favourite of all time. There were times I hit rewind just to hear him speak again. There were many times I laughed to the point of tears.

If that's true then wow! I don't know how they would know the winner though considering they are pretty secretive and do most of the voting live. Still though, they have to be in contention for greatest Survivor ever. That would be amazing!

Well everybody shows the camera their vote before casting it, so if somebody on the crew or TV production team had access to the footage, they'd know.
Also Jeff Probst nailed the result of season 19:
"I do not believe the jury voted for Natalie, I believe the jury voted against Russell."

Ya was just gonna post that, Probst kinda rips in to the Jury
Quote:
I think Russell was the victim of a jury of bitter people. I am not taking anything away from Natalie, she clearly did a great job of reading the group dynamic of the jury and as a result she deserves the money.
Oftentimes on Survivor, the vote does come down to a choice where a determining factor is “how nice someone is” but that’s usually when all other criteria being considered is equal. That doesn’t hold up this season. This season was so lopsided in terms of one person (Russell) completely dominating the game that to not give him the money and the title is a bit silly.

Haha also just saw this from Probst, this was before the Finale he was asked this question
Quote:
Probst decided to write for PEOPLE how each contestant will be remembered if they become the 19th season's sole survivor. Here's how the host sees it through his crystal ball:
Russell Hantz: Like him or not, he will go down as the greatest player of all time. Period.
Mick Trimming: He'll take his money, marry his fiancée, and will most likely never be asked back on Survivor.
Natalie White: She will join Jenna Morasca, Danni Boatwright and Parvati Shallow as the 4th "hot woman" to win Survivor and will most definitely be asked back for a future all-star season.
Jaison Robinson: He will be regarded as one of the most well-spoken winners and will be remembered for his keeping his integrity intact while playing a very dirty game.
Brett Clouser: As nice as he is, people will not remember Brett, Brett will not be asked back again, and Brett probably won't care.
|
You can tell he really didn't like Mick or Brett

I think that Russells downfall was he was too good this season compared to the competition. Down 8-4 heading into the merge the only way you survive is if the other team doesn't understand how to play the game, which I think was true in this case and also why they voted the way they did.
That being said I think this is the first survivor ever I haven't got bored after the merge and stopped watching. Russell single handedly revived Survivor for me and I think a lot of other people as well.
Erik trying to justify Natalies strategy was ######ed as well, I can tell you exactly why her strategy wasn't as worthy as Russells, you could take Natalie and substitute her for any other person in the game and the outcome would have been the same. If you took Russell out of that alliance they go 4 straight at the merge.
I think the reason so many people like myself love the way Russell played the game is because he pretty much made everyone else this season look foolish. He sat there and looked straight into the camera every night and told us exactly what was going to happen then went out there and made it happen despite the fact it sounded like he was blowing smoke up our ass some times.
