What a cry baby this guy is turning out to be!! He was so pumped to leave Arsenal for Barca AND THEN complains publicly about his decision and now whines about going to Inter?

An Idiot that just won a La Liga Title, the Copa del Rey and the Champions league.

I think he made out okay in one season with Barca, but yes, he is a whiny bitch.

I think he made out okay too, but clearly he doesn't since he keep moaning and groaning. I'd be happy to be a freaking waterboy on a team that won that much.

Stupid man went from a starter at Arsenal, to a NON-BENCH player for Barca.

Good point, my question is: A lot of people have been subtracted from Arsenal, but none have really been added...aside from Arshavin really...what do the fans expect from next season?

That we effing sign someone already!!!

I expect a similar season to this year actually....minus the big flaming pile of poo that they laid earlier in the season....top 4 finish and a push in the Champions League. I'd love for them to win some kind of trophy this year, but if the roster stays status quo, I just don't buy it.

With Adebayor gone, it gives a bunch of the kids a chance to fully prove themselves. And I have a feeling the standard 4-4-2 will not happen for Arsenal this year. But with Eduardo back, along with Bendtner, Vela, Van Persie and Walcott, we can be pretty diverse up front.

On the back, the addition of Vermaelen should add some nastyness, with the other positions going to the kids like Gibbs, Clichy, Sagna, Djourou. And we still have those servicable CB's like Sylvestre and Gallas (puke!).

Midfield is the scariest....I mean sure we have Fabergas and Arshavin, and we get Rosicky back from injury. But we are goingt o depend a whole lot on Diaby, Denilson and Ramsay to play holding mid, which scares the crap out of me. And the fact that NAsri is out for a few month....this will be the definate weakness of the team. Which sucks, because we have one of the best midfielders in the game (Cesc, maybe I'm the only one who thinks that).

So......if you don't want to read my ramblings, I expect a top 4 finish and a competative team in all the cups/Champions League.

Yea Wenger now has about 40 million GBP to do whatever from Adebayor and Toure. I guess there's speculation that Viera might return to Arsenal, I'm not sure if that's a smart move. Would rather have young up and comers

I cannot really talk about expectations as I don't think Wegner has finished assembling this season's squad. As for hopes, a top 3 finish in the league and at least a third of the treble.

What I think the teams needs is a solid DM and a tall CB. It is my belief that Hangeland will be an upgrade over Toure who wasn't the dominant aerial CB the Gunnars needs and may have been on his dénouement. In regards to the largest problem at the Emirates, Paddy ain't too shabby! After losing out on Melo I don't think there are any other young DMs on the market that could slot into Arsenal's midfield the way Arsenal would need them to. Instead, I think Wegner will need an older, experienced, and proven DM to come in and fill the role for a season or two while mentoring his replacement. While Song could be the future Viera, I can see Wegner moving him back to the center of defence and brining new blood like Matuidi. There are still rumors about Inler but I believe he will be too pricey to invest in. As for the Gunnar's guns.

I'm not concerned with replacing Adebayor as I believe we have enough striking depth. Having Eduardo return to first team action will be like brining in a replacement and we can't forget about Arshavin and his CF capabilities. Like with all African players, I'm not keen on brining in Chamakh as we'll lose him during an important part of the season due to the African Cup of Nations. In addition, I think Bendtner plays a similar finisher role to Adebayor and although I like to bemoan the lad, he has a better strike rate than Chamakh and might need this opportunity to blossom in to the amazing player Wegner believes he has the potential to become.

The professor has this same preference and that's why he might bring Viera back; to not only apply but teach his skills as well.

Haha!! Reading this, you could replace "Arsenal" with "Edmonton Oilers" and it would make perfect sense!

Well Alonso looks a pretty sure thing to be leaving Liverpool, passing his medical today. But Liverpool agreed a fee for Roma midfielder Aquilani today too. But in bigger news than both those Darren Bent finally completed his transfer to Sunderland after weeks of negotiations! Can't wait for the season to start!

I dont know about this, I'm sure Thunderball knows all about this guy, but I'm not happy about losing Alonso. I was so excited too, we finally got rid of Arbeloa and then lose Alonso...dammit. Besides, like we need another oft-injured Italian on this team.

I'm also surprised about Sunderland working so hard to get Darren Bent or all people...

Well... Aquilani is one of those players at the crossroads of his career. This is where he either completes the flop and becomes midtable fodder, or he achieves his potential and becomes a CM star.

He's got good control and speed, but he's very injury prone, and can disappear in big matches. He's a lot like Tiago Mendes to be honest. He's been a flop for the Italian NT, and shockingly, has not always been a fixture in Roma's starting 11, often overlooked for De Rossi, Menez, Baptista, Perrotta, Brighi and Pizarro. He was hoped to be De Rossi's ideal partner, but that never happened. I honestly think Roma is better off without him and with the money. Ironically, Juventus was really after him 2-3 years ago, but with Aquilani's stagnation, coupled with Marchisio's ascendance, Tiago's resurgence and the signings of Melo, Sissoko and Diego, they lost all interest this offseason.

However, like Tiago, he might do really well under a new coach, with new expectations.

Frankly, I think Liverpool made a mistake unless they are really hard up for cash. Xabi Alonso is one of the best CMs in the game right now and honestly, I think Mascherano and Lucas are better than Aquilani right now.

At this rate, Liverpool is becoming the dumping ground for Italian flops... which is probably not what you wanted to hear.

Incidentally, if Liverpool wanted a defective midfielder from Serie A, they should have taken Poulsen off Juve's hands. At least he would only cost 8-11m euro, he's not injury prone, and he's really not that bad. Just total surplus to requirements.

I just saw the numbers for Aquilani... 20 million pounds... what a fleecing by Roma.

Yeah, I'm really glad Juve bought Diego for 25m euro before Real went on their 200m spending spree. He'd probably cost more than Alonso now. I suspect Melo (21m) and Caceres (loan with 12m buyout) got a little inflated cause of those traditional goofball clubs too.

Still, I'd assume Liverpool is in need of some cash, but really, this ends up being Xabi Alonso for Aquilani, 12m cash, and maybe 2m in reduced salary. Not exactly shrewd business.
