it all starts with the parents.
Now 41 I look back and remember having manners and respect for my teachers, elders, parents, law enforcement etc.
Kids now a days dont care and I honestly see it beginning at home. They arent taught the same level of respect for anything and expect everything for little or nothing. The attitude of doing as little as possible to achieve something is really bothersome to me.
These kids have things handed to them on a silver platter and have NO appreciation of ANYTHING.
I have 2 teenage boys who do nothing but be enabled by their mother....my ex....and they expect the world and do nothing for it.
Ive tried but havent given up. I see them making mistakes and it seems they are realising dad isnt so dumb after all and that they need to be accountable for something in their lives.

I blame the politicians.
Kids these days are watching too much "Question Period".

Oh for sure. Kids today -- they have no respect, no respect at all.
When I was a kid, things were different. We shoveled sidewalks, ushered old ladies across the street, fed the homeless, held fair fistfights in the schoolyard when someone got out of line and most importantly, sat in silence in the movie theatre.
I don't know what happened. My old man talks about how well-behaved my generation was, and grandpa said the same thing about my dad's generation. Somewhere along the way, kids lost their way.

I think you then have to take a look at the previous generation, and the way they raised these kids. To just assume every kid born after 1987 went crazy by themselves doesn't make alot of sense. Obviously there's a serious issue with coddling and overprotection which has led these kids to feel no fear. That's why they're such little dousches now.
EDIT: I got a buddy who's a teacher and its amazing the amount of times parents these days blindly defend their kids when clearly the kid is at fault. One parent actually tried to get my buddy fired because their little brat wasn't getting good enough grades(probably because he never did his homework and just mouthed off in class, as my buddy said). I can't believe parents would act that way, back when I was in grade school(which wasn't that long ago at all, I'm in college), my parents would've KILLED me if I pulled a stunt like that, they'd totally side with the teacher. Parents today need to take some responsibility and look at themselves for how kids are turning out.

I was on the bus the other day and it was empty. Three teenagers got on. Two were normally dressed and one was the full on gangster. Jeans around the base of his ass, wife beater and giant silver crucifix. I got comfortable and braced for the ignorance to wash over me with whatever garbage was going to leak from his mouth.
Turns out the two kids dressed normally had dropped out of school and were complaining that their parents were making them pay rent. The one dressed like a moron spent the whole ride lecturing them on how they were parasites on society and being extremely unfair to their parents. It was kind of funny ... his opinions were extremely mature but they were delivered in "teenager speak". I felt like an ass for judging him.

I don't think mine is fully formed yet and I'm definitely past 24, probably because I keep holding it back with alcohol

Had an idea!

So after 24 its all downhill?
That would explain a lot. Means around age 50 you've lost half of your brain.
Sounds about right on course too.
