Was actually one of the more boring championship games I can recall. 3-0 early, then it was a snoozefest. Backlund was pretty 'meh' this whole tournament........definitely wouldn't mind seeing him spend a year in the AHL, although it obviously depends on what he does in training camp.

Really liking the Nemisz pick. Big kid, decent hands and I love his defensive game. Could be a gem of a pick by Sutter.

Wow, how Windsor won I don't know. What a pity. There goes the WHL dominance.

I think Backlund was just getting worn out from such a long season. He's played more than double the number of games he's use to playing.

Congrats to Nemisz and the Spits. Happy to see them win it. For Mickey and the city.

Nemisz had a great game. 1 assist(I swear he should have got one on the 3rd goal as well) and just solid at all ends of the ice. Got much better as the tournament went along. Really like the kid.

Happy to see the Spitfires win it for themselves and Mickey.

Boughner's comments about Renaud after the game were quite touching.

An amzing finish to the tourny for the Spitfires. Lose the first 2 games and then reel of 4 straight to capture the Cup.

I also think Backlund was just plain worn out. You could see it in the way he was skating. This is more than double the amount of games the kid has ever played in one year.

How could Backlund be wore out with all those days off before the Cup final?

Nemisz ends the tournament with 7 points and +3 in 6 games.
Backlund ends the tournament with 4 points and +1 in 4 games.

This might be a good reason to start him off in the AHL next year.

An awesome picture of Harry Young, a native Windsor boy, by the way.
