Why don't you clarify exactly what it is in your mind I was saying. I NEVER said it doesn't happen and doesn't warrant further investigation. All I was mentioning was that by looking at a SIN card you can determine whether it is of a temporary or PR/citizen as an information tool.

Good discussion Bagor, I appreciate it. The bolded part is all am I saying. It provides someone with very little info, and in the case of a foreign national, even less info, only that the person is a foreign national. Which, If I remember correctly, the person in this case did say she was a foreign national, thus, the officer did not obtain any new information if a SIN card was provided.
