I think my worst purchase ever was tickets to the Panda Game during my final year of university. The Panda Game was a football game with Carleton against the University of 0ttawa played at Landsdowne Park.

At one point, before I started going to Carleton, it was the wildest game of the year. The place was packed, the alcohol flowed freely and it was a crazy atmosphere. But then a railing broke, a whole bunch of people fell 15 feet, some were very seriously injured and they put in place a whole bunch of rules to limit alcohol consumption. But I digress.

Anyway, it was an afternoon game. I headed over to my friends' place to hang out first, then we hit the campus pub before walking over to the game. We ended up missing the first ten minutes of the game. As we were sitting down in our seats, the Uof0 scored making it 21-0. The next ten minutes we were there we proceeded to watch not only the bad guys score a couple more touchdowns but also knock a couple of Carleton players out of the game including the starting quarterback who was taken off the field on a stretcher.

By then we had had enough. There was no alcohol in allowed in the stadium that day, which might have been the only thing that could have made the remainder of the game tolerable, so we took off after being there for only 10 minutes.

Carleton no longer has a football program, so sadly the Panda Game is no more.

Fully loaded they were going for 70,000 about 18 months ago. Its diesel so they are more pricey than a typical gas truck.

Was this the story of the building that wasn't going to be built, then got built after the refunds or something like that?

Damn, that's a lot of money for a truck. At that price you can get a pretty nice Porsche.

before the dollar caught up to the US$, the prices were even worse. Few of the automakers bothered to adjust prices to the currencies. Dad saved $25,000 buying his Lexus in the US vs here. Truck prices were thousands less down south as well.

Actually Porsches are pretty great daily drivers in comparison to a lot of sports cars....that's sort of their appeal.

If you need a truck though, of course it's not the most ideal!

Yep, I have a few friends who did that as well. The price comparison of cars between the two countries is pretty ridiculous. I remember a friend who bought a 4Runner in the high 20's, when in Canada it was in the 50's. Pretty mind-blowing.

My dirtbike might mess up the leather seats..

I enjoy driving porsches, but for bang for your buck they are pretty weak.

I guess I'd rather spend 10 grand on a used truck you can beat up, and the rest on a nice porsche....or actually i'd rather spend it on this thing:

I'm a gluton so I wanted utility with blinding straight line speed. I've had a few fast cars before and I always hated driving junk all winter while my car sat parked. I can't see that pic stupid work filters.

A DSR-1 that just sits around and looks cool...should've just spent the money on a TV or something.
